I usually use the name "twoidhd" on most forums. Don't know what I used my first name and last initial on this one.

Anyway, the story behind twoidhd is, several years ago I owned an old Harley Davidson Tourglide. These are the only HD's with two head lights therefore

two id (eyed) hd

A lyric from the song Insomnia by Faithless

http://www.lyricsdir.com/faithless-insomnia-lyrics.html

Deep in the bosom of the gentle night
Is when I search for the light
Pick up my pen and start to write
I struggle, fight dark forces
In the clear moon light
Without fear... insomnia
I can't get no sleep

I used to worry, thought I was goin' mad in a hurry
Gettin' stress, makin' excess mess in darkness
No electricity, something's all over me, greasy
Insomnia please release me and let me dream of
Makin' mad love to my girl on the heath
Tearin' off tights with my teeth
But there's no release, no peace
I toss and turn without cease
Like a curse, open my eyes and rise like yeast
At least a couple of weeks
Since I last slept, kept takin' sleepers
But now I keep myself pepped
Deeper still, that night I write by candle light
I find insight, fundamental movement, uh
So when it's black this insomniac take an original tack
Keep the beast in my nature under ceaseless attack
I gets no sleep
I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep
I can't get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep

I love this topic! Well, I originally used my unoriginal "handle" that I use everywhere lpady (first initial and last name) but wanted something more expressive of what I was here for. I've used that original handle since the beginning of Internet Chats on AOL and newsgroups were the only way of delving into information.

It was tough coming up with one that I liked but since I'm seeking Delta sleep, well -- DeltaSeeker

But now it always reminds me of that old Helen Reddy song "Delta Dawn"

I wanted to be able to freely post without revealing too much of my identity and after some troll tried to hit on me because of my avatar I decided it was a REALLY good idea... That's when I also took my e-mail, website and IM off my profile as well and just put in my state.

I too liked DarthVader but knew DV was already here.

Another interesting addition to this topic would be how we came up with our avatars. I searched all around until I found the one that truly expressed me best. Since my biggest problem with OA was falling asleep while typing at work (which almost lost me my job!) I chose the one I use now instead of my own picture (again trying to stay from personally identifiable information). I thought of MoonDreamer or something to do with fairies since I love them, but I like what I chose now. Look forward to hearing what others say...
To dream ... the impossible dream...

Well, my First name is Steve, and I live in Ohio... Ohh wait, that's the "other" me.

Yeah, I am not that original either. Name's Craig, and I live in Texas.

Growing up I often dreamed of visiting Colorado. The pictures of the mountains in National Geographic and John Denver contributed to it I'm sure. Been here over 20 years and still enjoy waking to the view of the Rocky Mountains! CPAP has only enhanced the experience since I'm not taking naps during the day!
The avatar is of my dog and a Colorado micro brew (of course). Couldn’t resist the shot. It was tough to set it up without waking her. I took the photo pre-cpap but thought it fitting when looking for an avatar for this site.

Whats a handle ?

Post by John_M » Thu Jun 07, 2007 10:38 pm

Well before I knew what I was getting into, I had signed up with my full name. And then, after posting reports with lots of personal data, got a PM from a person I respect who suggested that I hide my personal information. So I have been quietly trying to strip off identifying information so that the "evildoers" out there can't find me.

I have completed the task. I tried to get the JohnM signon but I found it was already taken and didn't get a reply from my offer to buy it.

So I became JohnunderscoreM but figured you would all recognize me.

And John M is the way I am known in other circles so it all hangs together.

As for my avatar, I started with a picture of me wearing a mask but no-one seemed to find it interesting so know you just got a picture of me in my squeeze's bedroom.

For me, it was 99% lack of imagination.

I've never even been able to come up with clever names for my animals, let alone usernames online!

Let's see, my husband (prior to cpap) would say, come on sleepy - time for bed.

Red? Hmmmmmm? Might have to do with my hair color and my son's hair color and my nephew's hair color........

About my avatar - I won a tile at a silent auction for a prom for Special Needs kids at my school. I had to "downsize" it so much, but - it says "Best stressed!"

Believe me, I'm a better at stressing than dressing!

Sleepyred
(who is not so sleepy anymore!)

'Fun topic......
As a rule I use "Rocksmasher" as my avatar indicates I make arrowheads out of stone.
I used "RedRoster" -But- the hair NOW has WAY to many glints of sun light / gray
My business card list "Dirty oldman" "Oldfart" "Retired" "Rev."
But here I just used my NAME..... Having been self employed no worries of being ired or dropped from insurance???
THANKX EVERYBODY ------ or all the help and support & sorry to those that don't like my language " Just wish YOU had the guts to say what U feel! " Your loss..

About 20 years ago I had a friend at work that made a cassette tape (ac\dc) for me, yes I said cassettet tape, remember those, Well he wanted to write my name on it, so he looked at my time card and it said christopher no last name so he thought my last name was topher, since I STILL HAVE THE SAME JOB the nickname stuck

Dreams! Gotta love 'em ... gotta have 'em!
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
