You aren't one of the "mean" people here, Zonker.

Now go back and read PR's initial post, which is always his so lovely way of saying things. Said in a different tone, this thread wouldn't have gone off the rails and the OP might not have felt shamed and left.

No replies needed! I'm not interested in an argument. After so many years I have come to realize that nothing is going to change. One has to decide for themselves if the knowledge is worth zooming past the rude, unnecessary remarks. Actually, simply reading here (with a light lamp) is so much more soothing.
and, you missed my point by pretending what i said wasn't what i said. and yes, there will be replies. that's how a forum works. i'm not here to refute you or win you over to the dark side, though we DO have cookies.

yup, we'll never know about the "said in a different tone". because that's a mugs game that i don't want to play. besides, the same applies to mjrodr. HE could have taken what palerider said with a grain of salt and moved on. but he didn't. he CHOSE to be offended, which in my opinion is what each and every one of us does, every day.

not sure this thread will last much longer as it's going to degrade to name calling and appeals to authority. but i'm STILL hopeful that newbies will read it and realize that when they come in here, they are going to have to put on their adult pants and appreciate this forum for what it is, warts and all.

and THAT is what i meant in the post you replied to.

to quote forum friend jnk...
just sayin".
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
