thanks for elaborating. i've been here long enough to know the quality of the work you do. and it's appreciated.Pugsy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 11:45 amShe is indeed aware. the one thing that concerns me (oh no! suddenly, i'm a concern troll) is that in conversations like this, i don't think the message really gets out to the particular forum member that can benefit from it. and i don't mean the op, i mean the newbie to the forum.
looking at the time i'm composing this, the topic has had 601 views and 45 replies. and those replies are spread out over a handful of us. how many newbies have read and moved on? those are the folks that i can only hope see the value of this forum and read far enough to learn WHY the forum is as it is.
frankly, i'm surprised that some of the regulars haven't posted to shame us for "being so mean".

The definition of "troll" appears to vary widely among people. Just another one of those YMMV things. I have been called a troll or worse. It used to bother me but no more. I just consider the idiot source and move on. They got the right for their opinion and I have the same right. I just don't voice mine as often.

As for the views vs replies....rubber necking train wreck watchers. These sort of threads always get high views.

Now go back and read PR's initial post, which is always his so lovely way of saying things. Said in a different tone, this thread wouldn't have gone off the rails and the OP might not have felt shamed and left.
No replies needed! I'm not interested in an argument. After so many years I have come to realize that nothing is going to change. One has to decide for themselves if the knowledge is worth zooming past the rude, unnecessary remarks. Actually, simply reading here (with a light lamp) is so much more soothing.

Ah, thank you, if it weren't for your continued dogged refusal to learn anything about the world around you, I might have been mislead into thinking that there might be the possibility of change out there in the world.
But, no, you had to take your typical potshot at me, and ignore fun things like someone saying they'd searched for "boobs".
Rock on, Karen.
