Case in point: as soon as antihistamines were allowed OTC, without Rx;
insurance quit covering them.
interesting. are there still antihistamines that ARE prescription?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

the moderator has already posted in this thread, so she's aware of the content. and apparently, doesn't have a problem with it.
She is indeed aware. While I hate to see things get a bit off track with the name calling because it helps no one...I am an extension of the forum owner and have to lean towards how I think he would feel about people saying things that might be viewed differently by different people in terms of anything I do.
thanks for elaborating. i've been here long enough to know the quality of the work you do. and it's appreciated.

the one thing that concerns me (oh no! suddenly, i'm a concern troll) is that in conversations like this, i don't think the message really gets out to the particular forum member that can benefit from it. and i don't mean the op, i mean the newbie to the forum.

looking at the time i'm composing this, the topic has had 601 views and 45 replies. and those replies are spread out over a handful of us. how many newbies have read and moved on? those are the folks that i can only hope see the value of this forum and read far enough to learn WHY the forum is as it is.

frankly, i'm surprised that some of the regulars haven't posted to shame us for "being so mean".

The definition of "troll" appears to vary widely among people. Just another one of those YMMV things. I have been called a troll or worse. It used to bother me but no more. I just consider the idiot source and move on. They got the right for their opinion and I have the same right. I just don't voice mine as often. Doesn't mean I don't think it though. If you all only knew the stuff that goes through my head that I never say.

Also, Medicare usually sticks diabetics with the full cost of pen needles.
(Pun intended)
The most common brand name runs nearly $50 for a hundred.
25 days worth if you inject 4X a day--

As long as I am the only one using my sticker I never change them until the sticker breaks. Then I replace the sticker unit. got a box of them with my first kit, still have 45 of the 50, 15 years. Never get infected from my own germs.

Probably the result of taking 3,000 units of Vit C a day. Jim
Using a fresh new needle with each injection gives me the most comfortable stick.
I use Reli on by Wal-mart ($18/100)
Members Mark at Sam's club (about twice as much) are dull as heck, and very painful to use.
You, Jim, are a tougher old thing than I.

Tough and worn out! I use one needle a day 60 units am, 80 supper units, and 60 units bed, mixed as needed NOVOLOG (FAST) and Humuiln N (SLOW).

You aren't one of the "mean" people here, Zonker.

Now go back and read PR's initial post, which is always his so lovely way of saying things. Said in a different tone, this thread wouldn't have gone off the rails and the OP might not have felt shamed and left.

No replies needed! I'm not interested in an argument. After so many years I have come to realize that nothing is going to change. One has to decide for themselves if the knowledge is worth zooming past the rude, unnecessary remarks. Actually, simply reading here (with a light lamp) is so much more soothing.

Ah, thank you, if it weren't for your continued dogged refusal to learn anything about the world around you, I might have been mislead into thinking that there might be the possibility of change out there in the world.

But, no, you had to take your typical potshot at me, and ignore fun things like someone saying they'd searched for "boobs".

Rock on, Karen.
