We moved into our house before it was completed.
Work continued, and improvements followed as we could afford them.
We had a place to live, and owed nothing to overpriced contractors.
Most features exceed code. Permit---schmermit!
yeah, but that was back around 1910, right?
(ducks and rund.)
1980, to be exact.
The bullfrog still skips those messy formalities.
Nobody's business but our own--as long as we don't make work for the fire department.

I miss the 80's. Never thought I would say that one.
I would really appreciate having my 1980's body back. I would not be near so self critical and I would enjoy it a lot more !

I hope the work goes faster on your new home than when we purchased our first house (many years ago). The actual construction work was already done. The only thing left was to stain the cabinets, install counter top, hang light fixtures, paint and flooring. They left these things undone so the eventual owner could select colors, light fixtures, etc. It took six weeks from the time we agreed to purchase until we moved in. Larger, more expensive houses down the street were being built from the ground up and people moving in before they got the finish work done on ours.
good grief! sure hope they don't pull those shenanigans on us.
This was 1973 and our house was price was around 20K and the houses down the street were in the 35K - 40K range. They were a much bigger priority for the builder than ours was.

Except for the big hair and spandex.
And the women sometimes dressed funny too.

I was and am still a fan of the big hair! I will take a pass on the spandex. No one looks good in that.

Right now, I am at the big hair stage. My hair has enough natural curl to it that it normally lays in waves. However, when it gets long, it no longer waves, it curls and becomes very unruly. I haven't had my hair cut since before this mess started. If it keeps up, I am going back to a pony tail.

Congrats!
I am genuinely happy for you.
And the added bonus is that I jump at any opportunity to try to hijack a Zonker thread!

sometimes it feels like this house is never gonna get built. why just the other day I was saying to the wife, "i don't know what's more unlikely, this house getting built in 2020 or babydinosoreless getting a job"
Take that!

Thanks

It is always fun hijacking Zonker threads because then we get great .gifs from him. Hopefully he will forgive me.
