My Hubbyhead software said that the CPAP was suddenly noisy at 12.20am and that I was restless at 3.20 and again at 5.
but is that software reliable?

I see a large leak at 12:20, and 5 am kinda speaks for itself. Dunno about 3:20 - maybe 3:40? Overall I'd say hubbyhead is reliable.

What about last night?
I think reducing my max pressure, or perhaps sleeping on a mountain of wedge pillows, foam blocks and cushions, is helping. I stopped using the cervical collar, perhaps..... I know - I changed too many things at once. *sigh*. I just wanted to sleeeeep!

I still wonder if the machine is faulty - and letting it get to 20 cm allows it to run wild and free.

When I have leaks, I have flow limitation. Do they go together?

I think that the flow limitation spikes during the big leak time is the machine not being able to do an optimal job of preventing those flow limitations in the face of the large leak.
The Flow Limitations are showing up because the machine is starting to lose some of its effectiveness in the face of the big leaks.
I think anyway....I have no proof but it is logical to look at it that way.
The FLs aren't growing up to be full grown apnea events but they are trying.

Aha. I see. So if I can solve the leaks, I might be able to solve the apneas.

Can't wait for my bleep - It should arrive tomorrow. (Must remember that one mask will not solve all my problems - and not to be disappointed when it doesn't)

We can only cross our fingers and hope.
And sometimes solving one problem opens up a new problem kind of thing...and sometimes we have to make a choice between two evils.

I have learned or rather confirmed what I long suspected....I still do a little bit of mouth breathing and have some mouth breathing leaking. I learned this by using the Bleep because I know it doesn't leak if it stays stuck on my nose and the only time it has ever come off has been of my own lazy doing.
So if the Bleep is stuck...and I see leaks I know the only other place that the leaks could be happening is out the mouth.
Before the Bleep there was always the possibility of mask movement being involved in my leaks since I long ago gave up taping or doing anything to try to keep lips sealed. It just wasn't worth the cost....that old risk vs rewards thing.
So one big thing I have learned is that mask movement leaks played a much bigger role in my leaks, in the past, than I ever really wanted to admit to. I was blaming most of the leaks on probable mouth breathing when in fact the bulk of the leaks were mask movement.

My mouth breathing leak when using the Bleep....rarely ever goes above 10 L/min. I might get a really big spike on a really rare occasion but for the most part when I am seeing a leak (and we know it has to be from the mouth since the Bleep never moves) it really isn't a big deal at all. Usually very brief and relatively small...plus I have nights where I have a totally flat 0.0 leak line.

So I will be crossing my fingers for you.
