I've got a friend there, and it's almost like she could be considered an American.

I'm surprised by this comment Dr. B Do youmean that she is acceptable because she can almost be considered an american? Is 'american-ness' the gauge by which worth is determined? This post reminded me of the days before we were educated about racism when someone would say with pride as if they were enlightened, "I have a friend whose black"

Must we encourage the racists?

Just curious.

Liam, never prouder of his 2% French heritage than at this moment.

Elle,

Unless I'm completely mistaken, Dr. Bandage is engaging in extreme sarcasm, and our guest twit of the day simply isn't picking up on it.

Probably allows the Fox Noise Channel to do all of his thinking for him does our guest.

Liam, treading dangerously close to politics.

that last guest was down right nasty!

Guess that he doesn't realize that there are a lot of Canadians that come and post here. If he's got that attitude maybe he'd better just crawl back in his protectionist hole.

I also have friends and former work colleagues who live in Canada (and other countries).....so, I personally don't appreciate it when my friends are unkindly spoken of.

When you look at a satellite photo of earth, you can't see the "borders" that supposedly separate our countries and states......they're only in the minds of those who govern us.

Way to go Den, citizen of earth.

May I add that we are all members of the same race? Human race. Not determined by skin color or ethnic background.

I can accept and endorse not liking an individual person because of that person's actions, but not because that person had parents who were born somewhere else. Who gets to choose parents or where to be born?

Liam, nobody could have said it better than you. Thanks.

drBandage,
attempting to lampoon the troll, thereby provoking serious introspection about issues of race, fairness and diversity, but now recognizing that irony likely is an insufficient tool.

Irony is sufficient for most. I am getting old.

I am becoming too familiar with this red faced icon

Didn't mean that you shoulda picked it up, Elle! I just meant that baiting the moron was probably counterproductive, although as I said, maybe he will smack his tiny little forehead and exclaim, "Doh!"
Nah.

I am getting old.
Good, that beats the alternative.

drB,
who is going to quit doing his lame impersonations of Liam's clever humor, but only after hoping that Liam will understand that mimicry is the highest form of flattery.

I think we should show "Guest" a little compassion. It must be tough going through life with the intellect of a turnip.
