Oh my goodness who knew a cpap forum of all places could be so dramatic? On one end i find the fact that every reply has included "libtard " or "libturd" is quite immature and says a lot, and on the other hand I don't think it's necessary to make such a huge deal about xxyzx'ss info (incorrect or not) when honestly although there's good advice on this forum, no one should make huge changes to their treatment without consulting a doctor or doing some supplemental self research anyway.

So yes certain people need to accept that disagreements do happen but also creating all this attention takes away from what this forum is supposed to be about.

I don't know, I'm new. But it's all pretty distracting. Maybe it's best if all parties just post their opinions and just post the info they know without directly confronting someone's post? Maybe there's no right answer.

After being a member for seven years, it would have been hard not to read the answer, as it's been Cussed and Discussed many times, over and over in over a dozen threads. Lately it has been worse, due to the multitudes postings without being logged in. (It made the list much longer) Reading the posts, give you a clue to what's going on, if that's mocking, too bad you read that post. I realize the search function here is fubar as is the spell check, but with reading it's passable.

If only logged-in people were allowed to post, the problem would be less, but that's not going to happen. Jim

I can't really give someone props that puts out so much misinformation so consistently. If that's what you want to do, to congratulate them for persistence in doing that, that's up to you. You completely missed my point sir. I didn't ask you to give him props, I chose to give him props because of what I saw. I never told you what you were feeling, I stated that In this thread there is no misinformation therefore if anyone is bashing him within this thread, or trying to convinve me how he doesn't deserve my props within this thread, no one is doing so to correct misinformation. There is no information in this thread to correct. So yes, what is left is that people seem to hate him. Maybe that hate is justified, I haven't seen it therefore I'm not going to simply join the collective hate. I will form my own opinion based on what I see posted from here on out. And calling people libturds as they systematically bash you, in a thread meant to do the opposite of that (for once) is tame. I mean someone called me an asshole as the first comment of my first post and noone got their tights in a bind. It's clear why I'm here? Well yeah, my first post was pretty clear about why I'm here but yes, once in a while I may try to deflect a little hate and give someone a tap on the back when everyone is shiting on them. Just to be 100% clear, I (and I think most of us) do not hate him. I don't hate anybody. I feel very sorry for him. But sorry for him or not, his behavior should not go unchecked.

He's the one who spews hatred and nastiness. You gave him kudos for hanging in here. That was your choice. But you also said you hadn't seen him say anything that warranted the responses he receives.

So, I gave you an example. A good one. And to add to it, he swears that nobody has ever posted anything showing where he was wrong. That's a blatant LIE. They have. Several times. And Robysue (a very knowledgeable and respected member here) asked him (ASKED HIM) to post links to the information that showed him as being correct. He refused. And he continues to REFUSE to post the information. His response? You google it yourself.

All he had to do to get along here was 1) stop the name calling and nastiness; and 2) post a link, ONE link, to support his stance on ASV vs AVAPS (that's the one I followed closely but there were more) and he refused. That says a lot about who he is, what he does and why he's here.

Hate him? Nope. Feel very sorry for him.

I agree with the poster that made the comment that people should not just follow advice they see here. Because of the way our medical systems work, many people HAVE to try what they see here in order to survive. So, while it would be nice to be able to just say "it's up to THEM to research, not us to correct bad information" - it doesn't work that way. I can't just sit by and let BAD information just sit without correcting it.

And yes, I thought when I first saw your support of xxxyx's stuff I wanted to respond by telling you to go back and look at earlier things he posted - things full of completely unsolicited hate (no better way to describe them) and dangerous misinformation given to newbies. I didn't, but will back up Madalot (and many others who just haven't yet responded to this particular thread - probably sick of the whole thing), because while your intentions are admirable, you need to know what may sound nasty to you now has come from a very valid place you just haven't yet seen. Really. We're not ogres or bullies, but do think it's important to try and guide newbies with solid info rather than stuff a really disturbed person tries to push (in an oh-so-knowledgable tone).

He has been banned on other boards for a good reason. Alone the fact that you find his postings even remotely informative shows the real danger.
It is not like he is always wrong, but I have not seen one single post from the alphabet-guy (and he has over 2K posts) that was even a little bit helpful.
In most cases he just spills out misinformations, sometimes his "advices" are just ill-advised but nearly every time it is just spam.

The basic problem is in my eyes mostly the fact that he just started treatment and has no clue of whatsoever but claims he has all the wisdom about everything. Everything he spills out simply does not add up. Look at his last "rain out rain in" thread! He claimed before that he had years of CPAP-treatment before he fought for his so adored ASV, yet he is asking (without further information about the mask used) where the feeling of water droplets is coming from? (what a brilliant engineer that must be if he is really asking if tears are running in his mask!?)
There is not even an indication that he is capable of getting his own treatment under control - quite the opposite seems obvious.

xxyzx has been corrected countless times! His response was always calling everyone a libtard and or a bullie. If someone managed to explain it to him in such simple words that he had nothing more to go on, he just ignored that thread and all the facts and keeps claiming that he was never corrected.

This totally unmoderated board is his last resort - everywhere else he has been banned or 'politely' shown the door.

It is, however, really frightening that you find his posts even remotely "informative" and feel that the more knowledgeable users of this board are "hostile" towards him.

To be clear, I have no issues with anyone correcting misinformation. I am totally up for that. I am not calling anyone bullies or anything of the sort. I haven't seen the specific posts you are referencing and can't really search "xxyzx hateful comments". If you want to convince me that he has been a jerk in previous posts I haven't seen, link me. I am referencing what I've seen since finding this board, which is that every time he posts, regardless of content, he is shat on. As a new person coming into this forum, that is discouraging to see. Want to make an impact, correct him when he is wrong but to shit on him on every post does not fill me with the feeling that people are trying to save newbies from misinformation. The funniest thing to me is that I have never once stated that I am ok with any negative thing he has ever said, I've simply stated that I'm not going to hate on him simply because everyone else is. That's it. Maybe I'll take the time to go find some examples of what I'm talking about but the way the forum is going RIGHT NOW, if xxyzx posts, he is shat on, ignorant and harmful to others. Even when he simply says something like "there are other issues related to sleep than just OHA" it is met with bashing. Even when it isnt misinformation. So yeah, I figured for once I'll send him a little something other than shit. I even said in my original post, I'll most likely find out why people dislike him BUT he is for sure a resilient SOB if he is still sticking around after getting shit on after EVERY single post.

This should be a good example. A functional illiterate that claims he is a PhD. I agree that if he was harmless, it is not nice to pick on the mentally challenged, but his claims of knowledge might just cause someone to hurt themselves.
