I'm not trying to argue you with you. I'm trying to show you how your initial opinion of the situation is inaccurate. I'm really sorry if it feels like I'm arguing with you. I'm trying to discuss.

I believe a couple of posters may be taking it a bit too far, IMO, in their reactions to him, but it's their call. And although I would not and have not reacted the same way, I definitely understand it.

Thank you for acknowledging that there is truth behind my post. Again, what seems to be missunderstoud here, is that I condone his negative behaviour and that I judge others for treating him that way. That is false and is in no way what Ive said in my post. I am literally defending my right to be nice to the dude regardless of whether he acts like a piece of shit or not. I'm not saying he's right, I'm not saying people posting in this thread are wrong about him or what he's said. Read through the thread and you will see, I've never defended him other than to say that regardless of what he has done or what people say about him, I have the right to be kind towards him if I so choose. And I dont believe that means Im "taking his side" or that I condone his behaviour. It is a statement based on my willingness to show compassion and kindness whether anyone else thinks they deserve it or not. It would take a lot more than being a dick on a forum for me to agree that a human being deserves no kindness whatsoever.

Ahhh...but here's the rub. While you may not have thought you were judging anyone...it was perceived by many that you were judging them. Comon Pugsy, we both know I have absolutely 0 control over how others perceive what I said. "You may not have thought you were judging them" no, I know I wasn't judging them, however, as you said, they thought I was. Which is why ive tried so hard to show that I hadnt, havent and dont.

"I may be new here, and may not have necessarily read everything I need to fully understand why all this hate is coming your way", "In any case, I could easily be wrong and I may find out why soon enough" I recognise that my experience thus far may be inacurate and that chances are he will prove you right but that wasn't the point of the post. That distinction somehow got lost.

And no ill feelings are taken here. We're discussing. I didn't disregard the sentences. I simply highlighted the ones I deemed pertinent and felt would explain why you have gotten the responses that you have. Had I intended to disregard the other sentences, I wouldn't have quoted them at all. I know people do that to skew their point, but I didn't.

We're coming from a completely different perspective on this situation. As a courtesy, I respect your viewpoint and position. We can agree to disagree, right? No hard feelings. We can let each individual decide who is saying what - and how.

We have allowed this thread to ramble on for five pages. The shame of it all is that it gives xx another chance to call us libturds and say he would like to kill us. That means to me he would like to kill Catholics, Blacks, Asians, Jews, autistic people and anyone else who doesn't hold his political beliefs (libturds), which he has insinuated in past threads. If ThatGuy wants to show him "kindness" that's his choice. But to continue defending ourselves as to why That Guy shouldn't be showing him kindness is futile, and this thread will continue ad nauseum for another five pages.

In our attempt to stop the foreign spam attacks, it seems we have made it really hard for anyone to become a member, it seems to work but at a huge price. Instead we are bombarded by Guest or random postings because they can't join.

Hope for a return to "Normal" soon but I'm not holding my breath. Jim

Well this has degerated enough and I'm way too bloody exhausted to keep going on with all this nonesense. Have a good one and talk to you under some better circumstances I guess. I'm actually really looking forward to having some good conversations about sleep apnea and treatment on here. Lord knows I'll need some help so hopefully I haven't cut too many ties with this ill-advised thread.

I think it's too soon for us to judge where everyone stands. Like you said you haven't read everything yet. Coming to his defense although well intentioned, you are indirectly provoking everyone in saying that they are in the wrong. No you didn't say those words specifically, but that's the indirect message even if you didn't intend it. It's like saying "Wow I can't believe you've endured the kind of parenting you've gone through" right in front of the parents and expecting the parents not to be offended.

Again I know that's not what you intended but I also think it's too early to dedicate a post without knowing all the details. I don't know the history so I'm going to give it time.
