SleepyEyes21 wrote:I respectfully disagree with you on this. I think in allowing negative posts to be anywhere but here (in one place essentially), you have defeated your own initiative of getting the bullying under control.
You are entitled to your opinion.

Johnny and Carolyn have always said...if people have a disagreement...take it OT..or private (yeah, that has about as much chance as a snowball in hell) but take it out of the helping threads.

Carolyn gave me this idea a while back and I just now implemented it and I ran everything past her before I posted.

I never said I was going to get the bullying or anything under control...not once did I say that this would change people. I have no illusions to that. None.

My goals in this thread were pretty simple.

1...posting a link to it in a polite manner and asking the parties hijacking the helping threads to take it elsewhere (anywhere I really don't care if someone starts a I hate asshole so and so thread and marks it as OT and they beat each other to a verbal pulp)...this way the OP in the helping thread knows that the ugly behavior isn't appreciated.
Will they move the fight...dunno...probably not but at least the ugly behavior has been pointed out in about as nice of a manner as I could come up with.

2...give them a place to fight no holds barred that isn't disruptive to helping threads.

Now in this thread...I have every right to poke right back...just like everyone else.
I have always said...poke me and I will poke back.
In this thread I have every right to be just as pointed in my replies as anyone else and I will respond in kind.

And they did do the first poking...PR hadn't said anything to either of them when they said what they said and a couple were direct barbs and one was veiled.

You know...if you continually to look for the negative in everything you wouldn't recognize the positive if it up and slapped you in the face.

So I think you misunderstood what the purpose of this thread originally was. It's not about me getting people to change..it's about giving them a place to be ugly that won't hijack a helping thread.
Was it a stupid idea...maybe..but hell, it's sure better than what was going on and if it save one helping thread from going in the toilet than it was worth it.
Would it be nice if they grew up on the way over to this thread...sure..but I won't hold my breath.

If you don't think this was a good idea...well..you are entitled to your opinion and entitled to voice it and I can politely tell you that I really don't care.

It was the best I could come up with for Carolyn so that she could avoid banning people....and trust me...PR wasn't the only one on the list.

Hey guys...I don't think this guest is really DoninOrlando...I think it is the forum software attributing his screen ID to guest due to IP address issues that are starting to happen more and more often.

I know the real DoninOrlando...and he isn't the PITA this guest is.

it seems it does violate the very core of the values johnny has set forth...

Greetings,

Subject #1

Any member of CPAPtalk may embrace or discard ideas offered on our free marketplace. Any member may offer their own ideas to counter others. This is called freedom. With freedom comes responsibility, in this case that includes being respectful of your fellow CPAPers. Don't squander freedom, practice the golden rule on CPAPtalk.

I'm trading value for value. I provide the domain, the hosting, the software and the moderation of CPAPtalk in accordance with my set of beliefs regarding human nature and business. You may use it free of charge, you may find a better board or you may start your own.

There will be no additional moderators on CPAPtalk. The core values of this board will continue to govern it. Love your neighbor and be a neighbor others can love.

Johnny

Sleepyeyes 21,

Yesterday in one of your posts in this thread you said to me:

"I do not believe I have stated anywhere in my posts that I am 'representing the forum.' Can you present a clear example of how I am doing this so that I might understand your point of view?"

Here is one example:

I agree, Don, from what Johnny has written we can all logically conclude that Palerider has repeatedly violated the code of conduct for the forum. Thank you for posting.

Who is "we can all logically conclude"?

Personally I do not feel you have the depth of knowledge to understand what Johnny has written. Instead of saying "we" try saying "I" or actually identifying who "we" is.

Also, I understand Julie goofed up by deleting posts, but even so, it does not give you the right to be rude to her and encourage her to leave the forum. You are not the moderator of this forum.

Thanks

Oh and Don- we are also Lucyhere, too. WE are multiple personalities and avatars (according to pumpkin head and his croonies here.) So, now we are apparently triplets; two from "Floridia" and one in CA. Welcome to our family, brother!!

What planet are you on?
Your being a PITA has nothing to do with correcting misinformation or even accidentally/on purpose/didn't know/lazy or whatever reason for giving incorrect information isn't why I think you are a PITA.
Anyone is allowed to correct misinformation...I just happened to correct yours and I wasn't ugly about it at all.
I just stated it was incorrect and posted proof...that's it.

It's your history of past posts and their tone and your attitude that earned you the PITA badge in my book.
I doubt you really care though...somehow I think your caring about what I think about you is the very last thing on your list of wants in life.

Uh no... I think Robysue did a better job of encouraging Julie to leave the forum than anyone else. Thanks, Robysue.

+ 1

But wait- did Robysue suggest Julie leave the forum? I can't remember; didn't Julie just get pissed off and leave, and Robysue basically said 'fine-leave if you want to?' (and I'm not opposed to that)

i just quoted my correction in red
is that not allowed anymore
will you kindly show me where and/or how what i quoted was ugly like you suggest above
in fact i did just like you did and posted proof
but that set you off on this tirade
is this the real side of pugsy
