Software for Resmed Auto Set S9
Re: Software for Resmed Auto Set S9
I tried a generic SD card and get the same message on the machine as I did with the Resmed card: "Invalid do you want to erase data Y or N."
Maybe there is something wrong with the machine.
If I click Y, then it will save the data for one night but then the next night it gives the same message again about an invalid card and erasing the data.
The machine will even turn on and off if I put the SD card in and out.
Is this a reason to get a new machine?

Re: Software for Resmed Auto Set S9
Are you removing the SD card after telling it "Yes" the next morning and using it in your computer with the software?
If so, what is the operating system of your computer?

Re: Software for Resmed Auto Set S9
The issue with the invalid card message happened quite some time ago, and was not using the card for a long period of time.
I recently started inserting the card again and get the error message.
A few days ago I learned about the software in this forum. The data will load from the card into the software for the one night's data.
But when I put the card back into the machine it says invalid and wants to delete it. If I don't delete the data the machine will not turn on.
If I leave the card in the machine and power in off in the morning. I will get the error message the next night when I power the machine back on.
Is this a reason to get a new machine. Other than the data problem the machine seems to be working.

Current laptop is windows 10.
Previous laptop was windows 8.
Had same issue on both.

Re: Software for Resmed Auto Set S9
The problem is your Windows operating system.
Windows 8.xxx and Windows 10 will put a little text file on that SD card when you insert it into your computer.
It doesn't really hurt anything but your S9 machine expects the SD card to be a certain way and that little extra file on the SD card means that the SD card isn't like the S9 expects it to be and thus the S9 will reject the SD card and you get the "invalid card" message and all you can do is erase the card and start over.
How to stop the computer from putting that little extra file on the SD card...simple...just remember to slide that little lock on the SD card to the "write protect" mode so that the computer can't write anything on the SD card and when you put it back in the S9 machine (be sure to unlock it first or the S9 will complain the SD card is locked) and you won't have the invalid card message anymore.
The is another way to remove the text file from the SD card but it involves some behind the scenes DOS type of work. Simplest thing is just lock the card first.
If you forget it isn't the end of the world to have to erase the card...the machine will put whatever it has stored in its' internal memory right back on the newly erased card minus some graph detail files but since you already used the software those graphs are in the software.
There's nothing wrong with the S9....the problem is the operating system on your computer and that little file it puts on the SD card that the S9 doesn't like being there. This is a known issue with Windows 8.xxx and newer along with some Mac computers....I don't know about ResMed's new AirSense models but for sure it's a problem with the S9 machines.
Respironics users...their machines don't care what else is on that SD card so not a big deal for them.

Thanks Pugsy, you are the best.

Re: Software for Resmed Auto Set S9
pumbany, why do you need to deal with a software and not just read the results in the machine? It will take you years to arrange for a software and all the time you'll be attacked by the nasty crowd.
I have a ResScan software but everything on it I could read on the machine:
Too much leak because I did not wear my chinstrap which is uncomfortable. I need a chinstrap made of silk.

Absolute nonsense... ignore!

Avi....If this is the case...why do you use " ResScan on imgur:" as you indicated in a previous post.avi123 wrote:pumbany, why do you need to deal with a software and not just read the results in the machine?
