Software for Resmed Auto Set S9

Post by pumbany » Sat Jul 09, 2016 4:54 pm

Does anyone have any recommendations for software that I can use to read the data from my SD card?

I have a resmed auto set s9.

Resmed has software called Res Scan. And there is also Sleepyhead.

Both are free. Most people here use sleepyhead. I prefer ResScan.

If you want to truly understand your cpap treatment, make improvements, and solve issues; software is a must have. Otherwise, you are flying blind.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Isn't this the same person who was 'writing a book'? And who has blog in which he has plagiarised another site?

When I first began with CPAP I had a respironics machine and had to mail away the SD card to a company to get a report. But it was a hastle mailing it back and forth so I stopped doing it.

Its good to know about the free software. I am going to order an SD card from Resmed and give the software a try.

Any cheap SD card will do. And you can get far more information from your computer with the free software than ever relying on on somebody else to read it for you. If you are still considering a book, wait a good year and educate yourself first. There is so much you don't know yet. Using teh software and understanding the data and how to use it is one of the most important parts of successful cpap therapy. Pretty much the most important thing we tell to newbies.

You wrote that any cheap SD card will do.

But I was reading the Resmed website and has a warning about electrical safety if the wrong SD card is used. This is what it says.

"The electrical safety test authority has determined that S9 therapy devices that use SD cards need to have appropriate clearance from the accessible part of the card to the electronic parts inside the card. ResMed has selected several SD cards that meet the necessary safety requirement and supplies these with the therapy device or as accessories. Not all SD cards on the market meet the clearance requirement or have been tested and validated to work with S9 devices."

I am going to order the resmed card just to be safe.

All SD cards are pretty much the same. The major differences are the storage capacity and the label on the front of them.

That warning is to cover their ass and get them an extra sale. But, hey, it's your choice. I've been posting her for over 4 years, and I have never seen any posts referring to any problems with an SD card other than needing to reformat or replace one that has become corrupt.

I have an SD card that says Resmed. But when I put it in the machine it says Invaild, do you want to erase data Y or N.

I think something is wrong with the card and I need a new one.

Pick Y and see if it reformat the card and then continues to work fine. Either that, or there is a read/write switch that needs to be moved. Sometimes, if the card has been used in a computer, it will add a file that upsets the machine. resetting the card will clear the problem. All summary data on the machine will be put onto the card. Detailed data isn't saved on the machine, so it will only add new detailed reports once the card is accepted.

You truly seem to be awfully uniformed for someone that claims to be writing a book on the subject of CPAP, pumbany.

yes, you have SOOOO much to teach in your 'book'... don't know anything about data, can't even get the name of your cpap right.
