Come on Mollete, you're better than that. You don't need to be insulting other forum members.

For Oak - please see if you can get the person to apologise!

Thanks

That was in another thread that you are referring to. No one flamed you in this thread but yet twice, you took shots at me. Kind of ironic since I was the one who told Mollete to stop insulting you.

Maybe you need to consider apologizing first before you ask other people to.

It is not as if my motivations have not been called to question here from time to time. This is the internet and I think that is part of healthy process here. I do not think you should be offended by that.

What I am beginning to see is that you see a differant thread than I see. Appears to be content control. How sad.

I do appreciate you 49er, or at least the character you portray. Whoever you are.

Have a great week!

Still seems like it would need to attached toy your head, so the patient could move around, turn over ...

I hope they make a better 'go of it' than Zeo did
Since often only C4-A2 and C3-A1 are used (and some others in the area) I have often thought a head band could be designed looking something like my bluetooth head phones (Go Grove Airband) which would contain and place the pads and have wireless communication back to data gathering unit. The user could be taught to use the band himself during a "sleep testing" class.

There are many many ways to get the information we currently know about to find out what is happening in our sleep. There are many technologies that would add nicely to what we currently have.

However it seems that those who call themselves "medical professionals" have lost their professional demeanor, imagination, and ability to see beyond the dollar signs to get the job done.
I forgot to mention that many other new technologies are coming down the pike. IR that can look inside the head. Phased arrays. Even possibly photon entanglement. We need an interdisiplineary approach.

I'm sure the medical mafia will manage to keep this option expensive or somehow unavailable to most patients anyway.

Look at the current situation. We could easily use a simple in-home sleep test plus a remotely monitored data capable CPAP machine for maybe 1/4 the cost of conventional CPAP treatment. You'd probably be able to treat 80% of the patients this way and figure out whether 9 out of 10 of the remaining patients actually need an in-lab PSG. Given the poor quality of in-lab PSG tests in terms of not sleeping, etc., I wouldn't be surprised if the average outcome wasn't better due to fewer people giving up after a bad sleep test.

Heck, just using a monitored data capable machine without a sleep test would probably have a better outcome than the current PSG - Titration - brick CPAP "standard of care."

This is a very frustrating aspect of the whole process for me. In addition to all the sensors, my sleep studies were conducted on tiny, hard as a rock, plastic covered emergency/operating beds, not proper beds. I also normally sleep naked (take that, visual centre of the brain!) and find it uncomfortable to sleep in clothing. The end result is a very disturbed, broken, terrible night's "sleep" which really can't be classified as anything even nearly approaching a normal night.

I've been for four titrations now and every one of them has been an incredibly uncomfortable and anxiety filled experience that I've dreaded. Not to mention having rude staff. I hope one day there's a better way so that at least other people will have a better experience than I did.
