Re: Sleeping with a recliner
I'm a newbie... what is this "software" I hear referenced to in these posts? When I got my machine yesterday I was alerted about the memory card that records my CPAP machine use but they didn't tell me about any "software" (just to bring my card in with me for my next appt.)
What is this software and where can I d/l it? And what is the purpose of it? My machine btw, is a Philips Respiornics.
Thanks

You need to know the model number of your machine. PR makes a lot of models.

As said earlier, your root problem seems to be mask leaks. One alternative that has worked well for others here is the hybrid full face. Just another thing to consider. Worst case, if it doesn't fit, CPAP.com does give you a 30 day fit guarantee. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/RespCa ... mments-tab

take the water tank out, turn it over, and look for a REF number on the bottom of the blower half.

Re: Sleeping with a recliner
A lot of people sleep in recliners on a regular basis - in fact, there is a whole industry of sleeper chairs. I think most do it (e.g. my parents) because they have chronic pain and because the chairs frequently have lifts that help them get out of the chair - my stepmom cannot get up from a bed or couch because of hip problems. While it usually reduces the severity of sleep apnea and GERD symptoms, it isn't the preferred treatment for either of those issues.

Re: Sleeping with a recliner
I NAP in my recliner probably every day. As far as full face masks the Resmed F10 is a very popular mask. It is new and there is a big demand for them. As far as masks go, what works for one person might not work for you. The mask search is a journey in itself.

Re: Sleeping with a recliner
I thought about doin' that myself, but taking the time to put my mask on would "kill the moment".deerslayer wrote:i keep an older M series beside mine just in case i take a siesta, or for those nights where it is a necessity . Very convenient & practical .

Yes, my wife sometimes gets upset a day later if she is in the man cave and the landline rings in another room. I unplug it and forget to plug it back in after my blissful nap.deerslayer wrote:But when i want to take a serious nap/cell phones are turned off + any other potential interruptions are addressed
She especially hates my orders to say, if someone calls, he is not in. She says that is lying and says instead he is not available.
My CPAP friends have figured out "not available" means he is taking a nap with CPAP and they have a good appreciation of that.

Dozing off in ER while hooked up showed my O2 levels dropped to the mid 70s while sitting up.

Re: Sleeping with a recliner
I was originally diagnosed with sleep apnea while falling asleep during a angiogram/angioplasty procedure. The person monitoring my levels kept telling me to wake up and the heart Dr said just let him sleep... she said that every time I fell asleep my O2 levels dropped. The other Dr in the room leaned over and said you have just been diagnosed, you need to get that checked. I got my first Sleep test 2 months after that process and was a cpap user shortly after that.BlackSpinner wrote:Dozing off in ER while hooked up showed my O2 levels dropped to the mid 70s while sitting up.
Recliner... My goto when cpap isn't working or not available. I have slept on my recliner with cpap a couple times, each time NOT reclining but sitting up as reclining is the same as sleeping on my back which doesn't work even with cpap.
