- Nano cushion (size small): 0.052 lbs (0.832 oz)
- Swift FX nasal Pillow cushion (size medium): 0.030 lbs (0.48 oz)
- Swift FX nasal Pillow cushion (size small): same as medium pillows (0.48 oz)

Thanks Carolyn....than cushion is almost twice the weight of the pillow...probably going to really make the Bella Loop experiment with the Nano cushion a bit iffy.

Regarding the cushion and my congestion issues...The Wisp caused the congestion but wasn't immediate as to the point I couldn't go to sleep and I had it really loose but no leaks. The congestion caused about 6 wake ups due to congestion during the first 90 minutes when I tried it...and quit after 90 minutes with the Wisp. I got tired of pulling the cushion off my nose so that I could breathe again so I took it off an put the Tap Pap back on and slept soundly the rest of the night.

I think I am just "special" even the very slight weight of my super light weight titanium frame glasses can cause my nose to stop up sometimes... plus I am totally miserable with just the least bit of nasal congestion.

But I am willing to give the Nano cushion a try. Never know...maybe it will rest a bit different on my nose and won't cause the congestion.

Hello Everyone,
As a new person here, all I can say is thanks - this is awesome! To get this level of detail on a new item is just great to help us to understand what the differences are.

Wouldn't you know....

I contacted my RT today about getting the new Nano mask and headgear. She had met with the ResMed reps today and talked/looked at this mask ### but ### they told her that it would be over a month before they could ship it to her office!! I'm in the 30 day mask try out phase with my insurance, day 15, so I won't be able to have insurance cover it after waiting that month. Then I will have another 60 days to wait before the insurance kicks in fully and I can get another mask.

I'm considering getting the Swift nasal pillow mask, from my RT, that uses the same headgear as the Nano and buying the Nano kit without the headgear.

What are your thoughts?

Thewino - We went through our original stock very quickly Tuesday morning, we have a large shipment that just arrived. Your order is being pulled right now, we are sorry for the delay.

Carolyn,

I had written a note to your company to inquire about the issue. A representative from your company replied to me today and could not have been more kind.

I wish more companies had employees like this. You should be proud of the customer focused skills utilized by your staff.

For the forum members: because I ordered the mask on Tuesday, overnight mail, CPAPdotCom has replied that they are shipping the mask to me today, overnight mail, and waiving the overnight delivery charge because of the original problem.

Thank you Carolyn. I really appreciate your attention to the matter and your thoughtfulness!!!

Ref: SleepWeaver Anew

It arrived yesterday. small box and very very light compared to my current mask.

Taking it out of the box the "unit" was already put together unlike what they show in the video. I didn't bother with the DVD that came with it... cleaned it to get the new smell out and used it last night.

While watching the football game, I put it on to see how hard it would be to do, wasn't too hard but he clasps are different. I found a way to easily know where to put it without looking at it since I don't have a mirror in my bed

When I went to bed, I removed my existing mask and connected this one. Put it on and tighten it.

It wears differently from the other mask, much lighter, and feels looser. At first it seemed like my mouth was in the wrong position etc.. but after I had it on for a minute or two was okay. Sounds different, and my nose has fabric touching it. Takes a little getting used to.

As to sleeping with it, worked very well. I woke up at my typical 2:30am-3am time, sat up for a couple minutes, put the mask back on and went back to sleep. Normally I get up for about an hour or so. When I got up in the morning I noticed that my nose at the underside was a bit sore. It is not used to having anything on it while wearing a mask.

As for comfort.... was pretty good all night. I am a stomach sleeper and have a unique way of doing that while still wearing a full face mask. This one actually gave me a bit more room to maneuver than the previous mask. Pretty much no leakage unless I ended up in a really wrong position. Again, it sounds differently because the air flow out of the mask it a bit different but not a problem for me.

Only the first night but so far I like it.

Oh... method of dealing with the clasp... I found that while wearing it, if I bring the strap up and slide it till it hits the outside plastic part, I can then just lift it up and it will be in the correct position to snap into place. Rather than trying to hunt for the clasp directly. Not sure if that make sense.

Thanks for helpful review Krelvin. It sounds like you are off to a great start with the mask.

I have decided to see if a larger size Quattro Air might work after returning the medium. If it doesn't, then I will give the Anew a shot.

Re: Nano

I received the Nano today and I took a four hour nap this afternoon. The mask is very, very light and super easy to use. The strap that goes on the top of your head is similar to, and looks like, the Swift FX with the rubber ribbing that you pull to tighten it.

The nose piece is made of lightweight silicone and fits entirely over your nose. There are no nose pillows or objects going up your nares. The fit is great and should stop the redness caused by other masks with pillows.

My four hour nap produced the lowest AHI I have ever had at 1.9 and my leak rate was at 1L/min. Oh, I did wear a chin strap during my nap.

I hope this continues long term.

Be well all,
Dave

My Nano and new short hose arrived today.
The short hose is a noticeable improvement over the previous Swift FX hose but the older hose would still work well enough with the Nano I believe. I will give it a try with both for some extended time to make sure but the older hose will fit on the new Nano and the new hose will fit on the nasal pillows.
I don't understand ResMed saying not interchangeable....I don't see a decrease in functionality myself...
I don't have a problem interchanging the hose/cushion/pillows myself. This is going to be one of those YMMV sticker situations.

The Nano cushion itself...I at first thought I screwed up by getting the Small but once it inflated there was plenty of room...so I would say if borderline on the sizing (and I was barely within the small size per the template eyeballing ..no printer to test for sure) that when inflated things should be fine.

I think that ResMed needs to make the nasal pillows with the same sort of ball and joint in the silicone where the hose attaches for added flexibility...that's pretty sweet.

Yes, it sure does.

And the "old" short hose fits the cushion on the Nano too. I can see the differences between the 2 hoses when side by side.
The new hose is a definite improvement. I am unsure of ResMed's reasoning behind their saying the parts aren't interchangeable..for me they are and I don't see any problem doing it but I haven't tried anything but general fit and wearing right now with a brief laying down time in bed with pressure. No time today to do a trial nap or anything like that.
Of course I haven't actually tried to sleep with either yet but I plan to just to try them out...both ways...new hose with the nasal pillows and the old hose with the cushion.
I personally like the added flexibility of the new hose at the joint to the cushion and the nasal pillows...and the new ball and joint thing on the silicone Nano cushion makes me wish that ResMed also would put a similar joint on the pillows that they have put on the cushion...the silicone hole thing.
But I don't see a problem using either one with either the cushion or the pillows.

Tonight I will give the Nano cushion a try. I have some concerns with it but not because of the cushion itself...I have a concern about the congestion that I get with any pressure on my nose (up on the bridge of the nose along the sides where a person's eye glasses rest) because I am the proverbial princess and the pea when it comes to that area...the least little pressure on the turbinate area causes congestion. I had a similar problem with the Wisp and why I only lasted 90 minutes with the Wisp. It's a weird little thing that happens to me and if I have the least little congestion in my nose then I am miserable....I don't automatically open my mouth like one might think. It's not a lot of congestion like I had with the more traditional nasal mask at my sleep study and I can at least get to sleep but with the Wisp I couldn't stay asleep due to the congestion. I woke up at least 6 times and had to pull the Wisp away from my nose so it would open up...I thought I had lasted all night before I gave up and put the Tap Pap back on and was surprised to see the report and it was only 86 minutes...it sure felt like all night with all those awakenings.

So tonight I will try the Nano with the new hose.. maybe tomorrow night try the nasal pillows with the new hose...and take it from there. If I can manage the Nano all night I will try it with the old hose just to see if it really makes a critical difference.

I really, really like the new hose myself and even if I don't end up caring all that much for the Nano, I am pretty sure that I will love it with the nasal pillows. I will for sure sleep with it to make sure that I don't get any ugly surprises with it but from the brief testing earlier with the new hose and the nasal pillows...I really like it.

I don't see this being enough to replace my Tap Pap as number one preference...the lure of no headgear at all is still too strong but unless I am totally wrong here...the new short hose on the nasal pillows should be a winning combination IMHO.
But I have kept a Swift FX setup just in case I can't use the Tap Pap for some reason (like toothache or something) and I already decided that the new short hose will be a keeper and go with my nasal pillows.

I also plan to try the short hose with the Bella Loops and nasal pillows.
I don't know about the cushion and the Bella Loops...I am afraid the position needed and the weight of cushion is going to make the Loops not a good thing unless maybe everything gets routed overhead..it's going to be a stretch to make it work but I will give it a try to see if the cushion will stay in place.

Oh...for those people who have never using anything but nasal pillows...with the cushion and the air going around the nose feels a bit weird...sort of like it is leaking but it isn't. I had similar sensation when I tried the Wisp. It wasn't unpleasant but it was a new sensation.

I am going to start a new thread devoted to just the Nano reviews by actual users.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=92096
Not the end of the world if a review gets posted in this thread but past experience tells me that review threads get quite long and this one has the Circadiance discussion in it and is already 3 pages in length now.

Speaking of "well", "well", how 'bout them Gators!?

Tough to score points when half your team is playing for the other side!

Looking at the rest of the schedule, you guys are gonna be lucky to put 2 more wins up!

AT Georgia, it'll be a victory if you hold them under 70.

And Spurrier's gonna be in a REAL good mood, so you can figure Clowney will hold you to -220 yards rushing (picture 70 plays a la The Michigan Hit).
