Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
Re: Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
Important Note: Per the manufacturer of the Swift FX Nano Assembly Kit, the short tube assembly of the Swift FX Nano is NOT interchangeable with the Short Tube Assembly for Swift™ FX Nasal Pillow (elbow, short tube, and swivel). Although the two products appear similar there are differences between the two products.
Re: Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
I know that's what they say but maxhal in this thread says that he was able to use the Nano cushion with the Swift FX pillows short hose.acidragon wrote:Important Note: Per the manufacturer of the Swift FX Nano Assembly Kit, the short tube assembly of the Swift FX Nano is NOT interchangeable with the Short Tube Assembly for Swift™ FX Nasal Pillow (elbow, short tube, and swivel). So if he can do it then while they might not be the same...maybe they still will interchange.
I will know soon enough as I have Swift FX pillow equipment here to test it when the Nano cushion and short hose arrives.
I will report what I find when I get the Nano stuff.

Re: Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
I ordered a FF Anew as soon as I saw this post this morning, at about 7am. It's supposed to be here tomorrow. I can't wait to try it out! After my dealings with the Q, all the FN lab ratting, filing down pointy hard ridges inside it that would filet the bridge of my nose, I'm looking forward to finding out if this Anew FFM is the holy grail or not. Has anyone here gotten one yet?

Pugs also let us know which size fx pillow you were and which size nano you ordered since theres only standard and wide. Thanks!
Re: Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
In the Nano cushion there is a Small, Standard and Wide. The Small is what is offered on the "For Her" model. The choice of Standard or Wide is shown on the regular Nano model.
The For Her model appears to have the light pink/gray back strap and the regular model shows a darker gray color.
So I just ordered the little kit thing (hose and cushion only) which is minus the headgear since I already had the headgear...and I chose the Small cushion.
Based on eyeballing the template at the link earlier in this thread I look to be a small size. My nose/nostrils aren't tiny but they aren't large an wide either. I wear a XSmall or Small in the Swift FX nasal pillows.
I don't have any ink in my printer to print off the template...so I just eyeballed the measurement.
I will let you all know how it fits. I sure don't have a tiny button nose but it isn't a huge nose either. From the looks of the template I might have done okay with the standard..the wide would have been way too big.
I got a notice that the item I ordered is back ordered but it is expected tomorrow...so should ship tomorrow. If it does I might get it Friday or Saturday and then I can report on the sizing.

I guess that's why he hadn't heard of this either:Pugsy wrote:I just called my DME and as expected he hadn't heard of the new Nano and as expected the Resmed rep no longer stops by since the company switched to Respironics machines.

Re: Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
Thanks mollete...I think I will see if I can forward that little jewel to them. Wonder if the RSVP price is only offered as part of a package deal with the machines??? Do you know if that is the case? They switched from ResMed to Respironics machines in the spring of 2012 I think it was. While this particular office is a small satellite office...the main home medical equipment parent is part of one of the largest hospitals in this area. It's a big business for the hospital. I can't get them excited about the Tap Pap but maybe they can still get the RSVP price and if that's the case we both know they could make a truckload of money with what they get paid even from Medicare.mollete wrote: I guess that's why he hadn't heard of this either:
The cost to them and reimbursement rates has been the main road block when I suggested the Tap Pap or non Respironics mask.
The guy that runs the satellite office is not the main buyer for the products. He just runs the local office.

Haven't been here a while....
I Ordered the SleepWeaver Anew yesterday when I saw it. Been using the F&P HC431 and HC432 for a long time now. Just realized it has been more than 7 years since I have been on the machine now.
Looking forward to see how it works. It is supposed to be here in a day or two.

I just took the plunge and bought the cushion only, and will attempt to see if this fits the Swift Fx strap, etc. Fingers crossed!

I ordered the entire mask from CPAP.com on Tuesday, overnight mail, but it didn't arrive on Wednesday. I checked the website tonight and it says it it still "processing" my order.

Howdy,
I have gotten many private messages asking about the differences between the Nano and the Swift FX Nasal Pillow mask. As acidragon stated, the official word from ResMed is that the parts are not recommended to be interchangeable. There are a few differences that they believe could impact the performance.
Johnny did a quick iphone video to walk through the parts and show the differences between the Nano and the Swift FX Nasal Pillow.
Thewino - We went through our original stock very quickly Tuesday morning, we have a large shipment that just arrived. Your order is being pulled right now, we are sorry for the delay.

Hopefully I'll get the FF Anew today. I'm so excited I can't stand it. I'm hoping there's no more chinstrap for me. Hopefully this will be wonderful. Everyone please pray for me.

Re: Cpap.com now has the Nano and the Anew available
Thank you Carolyn. The video does help me see the difference in the hoses. I can see where the new hose is an improvement.
Looks like I have several experiments possible.
The Nano with both the new hose and the old hose...the Nano with the new hose and Bella Loops...the new hose with the nasal pillows...the new hose with the nasal pillows and Bella Loops....and probably some other combination that doesn't come to mind just yet.
I did NOT opt for the new headgear...I have 3 Swift FX headgears right now and I don't see that the minor changes in that strap are big enough of a deal to warrant the expense. This was my choice before I saw the video and I am still cool with it...I don't think the back strap is going to be a deal breaker.
So all I have coming is the Nano cushion and the new short hose assembly.
For newbies wondering about the Bella Loops...those are the loops that go over the ears to hold the mask in place...so the traditional headgear is not used at all. Back when the Swift FX was my primary mask I used the Bella Loops and the traditional headgear both.
As with any headgear there are pros and cons to either. The main con with the Bella Loops was the slight pull on the mask from the weight of the hose associated with movement...maybe the new hose will work better...and maybe the Nano won't be too heavy for the Loops. When the mask got tugged on by the hose...the ears got tugged on by the Loops and the Loops would/could move and pinch the ears. In my case mainly the left ear for some unknown reason. Also the Bella Loops aren't nearly as forgiving in terms of fit and seal...it took me several nights of tiny adjustments to get it just right. Once I did get it just right...except for the occasional pinched ear...the Loops worked great.
Remember...I am one of those people who really, really prefer the least amount of stuff on my face or head as possible. It's important to me and that is why I ended up trying the Tap Pap...no headgear at all and nothing on my ears either.
I don't think that the Nano is in any way going to replace the Tap Pap...in fact I have my reservations about the cushion due to my own issues with congestion caused by pressure on the nasal turbinate area of the nose but I am always open for trying new things just for grins.
I did keep the Swift FX Nasal pillows for a back up mask just in case I couldn't use the Tap Pap (off chance of tooth problem causing me not to be able to use the mouth guard) so if the new hose works even better with the nasal pillows and/or let's me use the Bella Loops better...it's a good thing to experiment to see what the possible results might be.
So I am really more excited about the new hose than I am the Nano cushion... but hey, maybe it will fair better than the Wisp did.
Oh..for those who don't know my routine....I don't use a hose management system of any kind. I just don't like the hose routed overhead. Tried it and was more annoyed by it than just laying the hose on the bed around the bed pillow. Just my own personal preference and it doesn't mean that I am against it all. If it works for you...that's great and I am all for it.
