Re: BEWARE from BUYING at CPAP.COM
fishy,
I reviewed your order and I agree with you.
The original order contained the Swift FX mask with headgear which came with the free return insurance. This order was placed on hold waiting for the prescription. When you called in to update the order to the assembly kit - this is where the mistake happened on our end.
We should have told you by changing to the assembly kit, we needed to also remove the return insurance as the return insurance applies to the full mask with headgear and we should have checked if you still wanted to place the order with the assembly kit and without the return insurance. The CSR you talked with did not remove the return insurance from your order and did not explain this to you at the time.
I have told the CSRs to contact you and issue you a full refund for the assembly kit and extra swift parts and issue a return label to return the items, with us covering the shipping cost. They should be contacting you shortly.
I am sorry for the frustration. This case will be used for training to avoid this situation in the future. Please let me know if you have any further issues.
Regards,
Carolyn Goodman

I have good results BUYING at CPAP.COM
There are 66,871 users on this forum. Do you really think we are all paid shills for cpap.com?fishy wrote:OH WAIT!! I SEE WHAT IT IS!!! MY BAD!! cpaptalk.com is affiliated with cpap.com. HA HA ! I though cpaptalk.com was an independent user forum. of course the replies on here will be favorable to cpap.com and this will look to be all my fault. What was I thinking?! I'm complaining to the fanboys who ripped me off. What a dunce I am.
nevermind. CPAP.com is super-duper.
Did you come to the forum to seek advice on trying to resolve your problem, or just to bad-mouth the company?
If you are reluctant to post a picture of the document which you claim supports your argument, why should anyone take your word for it? For all we know you may be a shill for a competing company, or perhaps for your local DME who may have resented you turning to cpap.com when he/she couldn't supply you.
You seem awfully disappointed to learn that others have had long-term great service from the company.

I dunno........this whole thing sounds a little "fishy" to me.
He claims to not know that this forum was owned by CPAP(dot)COM, but here's where he posted his grievance.
I then went back and reread most of his posts and found these (in December):
I would think that his wife could have been a great source of information regarding obtaining and trying masks, the issue with the prescription, etc., etc.
Just my 2 ¢ worth.

My wife (who happens to be a respiratory therapist) suggested I use a full nasal mask rathert than a nasal pillow.
There were also posts about him wanting to try the Swift FX mask.Yeah, having an RT for a wife is a mixed blessing. She tries to micromanage my cpap...but I try to do it based on what people on here say - like many recommended the nasal pillow.

Re: BEWARE from BUYING at CPAP.COM
Isn't mask insurance something you have to pay for? And the amount depends on which mask it is?
Sounds like the doctor won't give a paper copy of the prescription and the dme is too lazy to order the mask. I have ordered masks and headgear that are not in stock and they arrive in less than a week.

So ... It sounds like there was a change to the original order by fishy, then cpap.com made a mistake ... Now they have offered to fix it (like they usually do!) since it came to their attention.
So just how horrible are they?
-----------------
Carolyn or whoever watches over the sales website ... Why does the FX page not show that ins is available (actually says no returns...), but if you go to options, it shows up?
When I bought my Mirage Quattro it states right on the main page ins is available ...

Thanks for pointing out fishy's past posts, Wulfman.
Looking back over them, it seems that he has gotten a lot of patient, good advice from cpaptalk members over months, making it seem strange that he would be so quick to condemn us all as mere fakes, fanboys and shills.
Regards, Nate

I will accept any and all apologies from those of you on this forum. I accept that I should have been more familiar with the return policy, however, Ms. Goodman clearly stated, " When you called in to update the order to the assembly kit - this is where the mistake happened on our end.carolyngoodman wrote:fishy,

CPAP.com has made the choice to do the right thing and has called my house and mailed me the return label. They have shown to be very good to their word...although they had to be prodded a bit. Those of you who blindly took their side and especially those who threw insults my way now know that you were wrong and I hope we all have learned our lesson here.

Really man?
Yes, you were insulted. Does that blind you from seeing how you insulted people also and made false accusations that everyone was a shill?
To quote my good friend:
In rhetoric and ethics, two wrongs make a right and two wrongs don't make a right are phrases that denote philosophical norms. "Two wrongs make a right" is a fallacy of relevance, in which an allegation of wrongdoing is countered with a similar allegation. Its antithesis, "two wrongs don't make a right", is a proverb used to rebuke or renounce wrongful conduct as a response to another's transgression.

All I can say is that Carolyn must be really restrained. I can barely contain myself from reaching through the computer, grabbing Fishy by the shirt, and shaking him. Hard. Until the right words fall out of his mouth, which would be:
"Thank you so much, Carolyn. I apologize for my part of this screw up and appreciate your working with me to resolve it despite my acting like a two-year-old. I would blame my mother, the government, and my sleep apnea for my bad behavior, but instead I take full responsibility for it. I apologize. And to the rest of you, I can see what you guys meant when you said that cpap.com, while sometimes making mistakes, tends to right them. I apologize to you, too."
