Strange dream and chest pain

Post by BCampbell » Fri Jul 20, 2012 10:15 am

I had a very strange night last night. I was dreaming I could not breath and
That i was shaking very hard. In the dream I could not catch my breath
I was breathing very fast. When I woke up my cat was on my chest
She never does that. She sleeps on a pillow behind my head It felt
Like I had a weight on my chest. My mask was leaking air a lot. I don't
Know if the pain was from the dream. Or the dream a warning of the
Pain it tool several minutes to get the pain to stop. I can't get it out
Of my head. I am a little worried about going to sleep tonight.

I. Have been thinking about it but I am working I am a mobile groomer and
Have two more dogs to go. I am afraid if I go. They will think I am nuts
Or it is all in my head it was so strange at first I though it was because
My cat was on my chest but she was not where I was having the pain
She only weighs about 7 pounds so she is really not that heavy. Right now
My back hurts and I am tired I'm not sure what to do .....

I agree with the above- see a medic! Your cat may have saved your life by checking on the unusual noises you and mask were making. Get it seen, please!

Agreed - If this is what we think it is, it's VERY MEASURABLE, and VERY TIME CRITICAL. If you can safely take aspirin, take ONLY ONE, NOW!
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

Pain from the chest on up (front or back) could be from a heart attack!

Were you sweaty when you woke up?

Are you still tired like you worked hard all day? (not from lack of sleep)

Is your back sore like picking up a heavy dog, or from bending over too much, or does it hurt inside?

Sounds like you need to visit the hospital for a going over ...

BCampbell, if you go to the emergency room and tell them you've had chest pain that woke you up and lasted several minutes, they will take you seriously and check you out. (And if they keep you for observation for a couple of hours you can get some of the sleep you're longing for.) If nothing is wrong, great -- you'll sleep better tonight for knowing that. Please don't let potential embarrassment stop you from getting checked out right away. And please check back in with us after you get checked out to let us know you're ok.

waiting for a call so the doctor can tell you to go to the emergency room? do you really think he is going to say, you had chest pains but you're ok? the nurse paging the doc didn't say go to the emergency room? going to do a dog while waiting? you should have already been laying in an emergency room bed.
