Resmed ResScan™ 3.13 for S9 VPAP Auto

Post by Uncle_Bob » Fri Feb 04, 2011 12:31 pm

A newer version of ResScan is available now, version 3.13

The download size has been beefed-up to 141MB compared to the 127MB for 3.12.

So i wonder whats new and improved

Hi Uncle and thanks for your help. I need more time to compare the two softwares.
By any chance can you direct me how can I locate the sleep stages from the ResScan data. In particularly getting a graph of the REM sleep. Or, do we need EEG data for it?

So far i can see that it includes support for an S9 VPAP Auto.

Also they have added a first 30 days report.

ResScan gives you the facility to check if patients satisfy the Medicare compliance
requirements in the USA and provides a report as evidence of compliance. The compliance
check can be conducted anytime after the 21st day of treatment.

Some additional graphs from the S9 VPAP Auto data, I've got to get me one of those

There is no graph for REM sleep as far as I'm aware. The manual might help you understand whats available. Once installed the clinicians manual for ResScan can be found on your hard drive under c:\program files\resmed\ResScan3\ResScan Clinician's Manual.pdf.

Thanks Uncle I suspected that we need a few more machines to get the REM sleep graph.

Example:

http://web.mst.edu/~psyworld/general/sl ... stages.pdf

As to those graphs from the ResScan that you posted above I have 2 questions:

1) Where do I find the meaning (definitions) of those graphs such as "Flow"? How could the Flow have a minus sign?
2) How do I post here those graphs that I have already in my laptop?

p.s. to be my "Uncle" you need to be now at least 105

1) in the clinicians manual for your machine
2) you have to copy and paste them in to a file and upload the file to a photo sharing web site like photobucket.com and then cut and past the [IMG] link into your post here. Search how to post graphs, here for more info.

p.s there are some days when i feel like i could be 105

Uncle Bob

First, thank you once again for the software link provided so prominently....

Second, do you know if the S9 VPAP Auto scores hypoapnea events like it does with the ResMed S8 AutoSet II, or more like its newer counterpart, the S9?

I'm sorry i do not know anything much about the S9 VPAP. I guess we will find out from users once the machine gets released.

On the flow graph all of the line - above - zero is inhalation. Starts at zero, reaches a max rate of inhaling and then drops back to zero. All of the line below zero is exhalation. The portion of the line from the bottom of the curve to the top of the curve is NOT inhalation, and from the top to the bottom is not exhalation. Seems counter intuitive at first but makes sense when you think about it for a bit.
