OT: What does everybody do for a living?

I've been an RN for 27 years and have done probably every kind of nursing except dialysis.

Nothing. I was forced to resign from my job due to my severe irritability and rage. I was told I wasn't "customer service oriented" even though I'd been doing it for 18 years. Oh, I was the department supervisor of a childrens science museum. This was about six months before I got my sleep apnea diagnosis.

Now I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 21-month old.

Showed dogs (Rottweilers) for many years.

Board and groom dogs now...for many years to come.

Formerly spent about 20 years in various positions in the health care field, then 10 with a non-profit social service agency. Left the workplace 4 years ago due to health. At times I contribute design ideas for my daughter and her hubby's online t-shirt business. Got a couple goals around writing - have a country song that I wrote the lyrics that I fully expect to contribute to my income at some point. Hey, why not me?

U.S. Government Federal employee. I've been in 10 years, joined right out of college. Mostly an analyst. As for what I analyze... that I can't specify.

We seem to have many here with healthcare backgrounds. Close but no cigar for me. I am a lawyer who represents medical malpractice insurance carriers. I do get to visit 25 hospitals or so every year and read hundreds of medical malpractice case files. Few of them involve OSA or CPAP. People might be interested that the most frequent reference to OSA is the alleged failure to consider someone's OSA as showing that they may be difficult to intubate. I have only seen one or two cases in which the claim was made that someone was injured or killed because they needed CPAP and they did not have access to it in a hospital. Many more involve allegations that use of CPAP was one factor (usually combined with others, like a short, thick neck) that should have alerted doctors to be prepared for unusual difficulty in placing an endotracheal tube.
