Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
What a price!
The specifications are not very clear: " - Windows-compatible PC with Pentium III or later processor" What does that means? - - Vista?
- Windows 7?
- Windows 7, XP or Vista?
- Only Windows 7 ?
- What?
I'm not a computers pro but I think Windows 7 doesn't work in a Pentium III. I really don't understand. I will need to visit the Phillips-Respironics maze,
Somebody understand?

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I'll answer to myself, sorry:
Version 2.0 software supports the new SD cards.
With the EncoreViewer Software 2.0 you can view the data collected by your Respironics CPAP, Auto CPAP or BiPAP such as usage and therapy details. This software is very similar to the clinician software that your doctor might use to monitor your compliance and fine tune your therapy settings.
EncoreViewer works with Respironics devices only:
All Respironics CPAP, Auto, and BiPAP with SmartCard or SD Card
All M Series systems with SmartCard
All System One machines with SD card (SD card reader not included)
BiPAP autoSV with SmartCard)
EncoreViewer does not work with:
REMstar Choice
REMstar LX
Non-Respironics machines
The included USB reader is necessary to import the data from your SmartCard. This package does NOT come with a SD card reader.
System Requirements
Windows compatible computer running Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP Home or Professional SP2 or later, Windows Vista Home or Business SP1 or later, Windows 7 Home or Professional, or Windows Server 2003 SP2 or later

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
The new software is not compatible with Windows 7, they manage to make our life hard Now that all the new computers comes with Windows 7, they make it compatible only with Vista. No wonder why they are second ones .
From Phillips-Respironics internet site:
EncoreViewer: Features
Patients can view and print reports that show therapy settings and patterns of use. EncoreViewer supports only Respironics sleep therapy devices (all CPAP / Auto- CPAP / BiPAP with SmartCard, all M Series systems with SmartCard, and BiPAP autoSV with SmartCard) - Respironics home noninvasive therapy devices are not supported by this software.
No prescription is required for EncoreViewer.
Required operating system is Windows XP or Windows Vista Home.
EncoreViewer is available only in English.
EncoreViewer does not include the following functions and features:
EncoreViewer does not provide the capability to alter or erase data on the SmartCard.
EncoreViewer does not allow a patient to alter any device settings or prescriptions.
EncoreViewer only displays SmartCard data to the patient. A Help File is included that explains the parameters of each report. No interpretation of the data is presented.
Interpretation of sleep data should always be left to a physician or healthcare professional.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
The probally didint include it since it wasnt publically available at the time the specs were created. There is virtually no software that is compatible with Windows Vista and will not work on Windows 7. In fact you can run an application in Vista compatibility mode on Windows 7 specifically for cases like this where the software doesnt work. I'd bet my shoes that the software will run just fine (may have to run as administrator though). Good luck!rosacer wrote:The new software is not compatible with Windows 7, they manage to make our life hard Now that all the new computers comes with Windows 7, they make it compatible only with Vista. Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Finally! What a complete shock that this software actually came out!
I agree... it's very pricey.
But at least Respironics listened, and responded to what the end user was saying. It's just a shame they had to do it in complete silence. But at least it's finally here.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Will I need the special card reader or will it work using my PC's SD card reader? Thanks very much.

PR did this in a very very low profile.
No wonder... PR cannot afford to offend its client based - which is the Draculan DME, not you and me

This is skocking to me! $200 dollars and the promise of no support. This is a crime. It is a sad case. There is so much more that I want to say but will not.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Still no word on if this works with 64-bit machines. Thats the big hang up for me.
If they made it work with 64-bit machines, I will be happy.
Hopefully we can find a place that will sell it for a lot less than $200.
