encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I bought it today when I saw the $99 price tag. I will be sure to post my experience after using it.
BTW, I have Windows 7 64 bit but I don't think it will be a problem running it. I have many 32 bit programs (and so do you) if you have a 64 bit version of Windows (they live under C:/program files(x86)). I think the issues usually arise when it comes to hardware drivers and since this software is reading the flash cards off of a standard card reader (the one built into my desktop for me) then there should be no problem.
If I'm wrong then I just wasted $99 I'll let you all know either way!

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I just ordered it and I will post a review after I have it in my hands. I will try to do a comparison to the "Pro" Package.Photomatt wrote:I still don't think there have been any posts from anyone who actually has this software. We are all just speculating. Am I wrong? If I am it would be nice to get a review from an actual user.
I noticed that the disclaimer on the CPAP.com advertisement has been changed to say something about software technical support ONLY.
That is fine with me and that is all I can expect. I don't want them to interpret the reports, just help me get/keep the software working!
I will post it as a separate thread (If someone starts before me I'll get on that one )
Cheers,
Dave

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Is it just an upgrade to EV with additional machine capability? Will it still work on M-series output? It there any advantage in buying this software to a data junky like me with a RemStar M-series Pro?

It is an upgrade to Encore Viewer 1.0. I don't know that it will give any more data (will have to have someone see it first).
If I understand correctly, it will also work with the M Series machines.
The only advantage for you that I can see is that, if you should decide to upgrade your machine the the PR Remstar System One Pro or Auto, you would have the newer software that will work with the newer machine as well.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I guess there are new reports - related to CA, PB etc - waveform reports - that are not available for M series

I ordered this software from talkaboutsleep.com for $139 last Monday, April 19. It was shipped the same day and arrived on Thursday. Shipping was included. I already had a card reader.Photomatt wrote:I still don't think there have been any posts from anyone who actually has this software. We are all just speculating. Am I wrong? I did not order from cpap.com because it was listed at a higher price and it was not listed as in stock.
I installed the software in my own computer and had it running in 5-10 minutes. I have Windows Vista. I am a technology-challenged person but thought it was a piece of cake. I had already used the old software on an XP and I think they are very similar, but the new software (to me) is less cumbersome. Have been using it for 5 days now and I must say, studying the data is addictive. I'm having no problems with it whatsoever. I think it's great!
Someone said that cpap.com has this software for $99 now. (I believe it is without a card reader at that price) I would make sure it is in stock before ordering.
For whatever it's worth, we'd ordered software for a different cpap (PR M series) for my husband two weeks ago. He was out of town when it arrived and we plan to return his software since my new software should work for both machines. cpap.com is fine with us returning the unused software but I believe there is a 15% restocking charge to do so. Their service was excellent as well.

No, I'm sorry I don't. The sticker on my computer says Windows Vista Basic.

Windows Vista
If you have Windows Vista, there are two methods to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other.
Method 1: View System window in Control Panel
Click Start, (button in the lower left hand corner on your screen) type system in the Start Search box, and then click system in the Programs list.
The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
Method 2: View System Information window
Click Start, type system in the Start Search box, and then click System Information in the Programs list.
When System Summary is selected in the navigation pane, the operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: x64-based PC appears for the System type under Item.
For a 32-bit version operating system: x86-based PC appears for the System type under Item.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
Yes. Thank you very much for checking that.
Many of us are anxiously waiting to find out if anyone with a 64-bit system can get this to work.
Thanks again.

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I ordered it today, next day shipping, so I should have some info for everyone tomorrow night.
I'm going to first attempt to install it on my MacBook dual booted to Windows 7 (32 Bit). If I can't make that work (and I can't see why it would be a problem) I will put it on my older desktop running XP Pro.
I have a card reader built into my printer, but for those who don't they are readily available and CHEAP. Don't want to link to outside sites, but I found one at online for $4.99. Email me for a link...
Can't wait to let everyone know how it goes!

Re: encore viewer for PR System 1 available
I used mine today on my Windows XP machine with a built-in SD card reader and ran it with 3 days worth of data. Very nice product; it reminds me of the old Encore Pro software, except that it is very fast, that I used with my M Series Bipap Auto. I have firmware version 1.22 with no GMT offset available from the clinician's menu on my new PR System One Bipap Auto, but the DME had set the clock up to GMT-7 which I needed in the Pacific Northwest. I did send an e-mail to Respironics Encore support regarding changing the GMT offset from Encore Viewer 2.0, in anticipation of a problem, but their reply was that it can only be done thru the DME that my machine came through.
