Hi All,
Chris Brown with CPAPtalk here.
We are hard at work trying to fix bugs and implement some of your requests. Search now works for 2 to 84 characters (it was 4-84 characters before). So you can search for S8 or DME, AHI, etc. now. We appreciate all the feedback. I am still going through all the posts on this thread so thanks for everyone's patience. I think we will have another Spell Check for you all to try soon. Rested Gal... ability to delete posts is in place now, as before. I think it will let you delete your own post if no one has replied yet.

Re: Possible Bug
I just now went to several of my old topics (those long lists of links) to update/add more. No "Edit" button, so I couldn't add to the list.SleepPunk wrote:Edit is now fixed. You should be able to edit any of your own posts, any time you so desire. Let us know if this problem pops back up.
For example, this one that I update often doesn't let me edit it any more:
LINKS to Lab Rat Trophy awards
viewtopic.php?t=15104
Sure would hate to not be able to keep adding lab rat fixes.

That's odd. I will look into this. It should be working but maybe something happened.rested gal wrote:I just now went to several of my old topics (those long lists of links) to update/add more. I think in the past few days, fixed items have sometimes regressed when another unrelated fix came in. This has happened a few times on unrelated items. You guys are working very hard and fast to fix problems. IMHO, perhaps a bit too fast; developers may be working independently and the code control system may be falling apart ?

Oh Babs
...ok I confess, I am T*I*R*E*D and I have this ...uh....what is it? Oh yeah long term loss of short term memory from years of untreated OSA. (and for no other reason, I swear ) Heck I even forget to breathe in my sleep and have to be reminded by a machine!
.....Anyway, when i see something interesting, something I haven't heard of, or a new product I just might have to have, I want to rush right over to https://www.cpap.com and look at it.
and if I have to stop, drag that heavy cursor all the way up to the address bar and then type in that long complicated address and wait for my slow computer to wake up ( ...hm...maybe my computer has OSA too... it certainly has memory problems...?) and open the cpap.com page....well, sometimes I forget why I wanted to go there.
So you see, I NEED that shopping button.

Funny I have a short cut for you. Just look around in the same thread where somebody has an equipment or mask listed, as a pic or in words. Click on it and you will get there fast!3isles wrote:![]()

Re: Welcome To The New CPAPtalk.com! Post Bugs/Questions Here.
Both of these items have been fixed. Hope this helps.new-to-BiPAP wrote:2 things...
1st, I have not been able to successfully do a search yet. I tried to search for a previous post of time but it didn't find any. Then I thought I'd look for something easy so I typed in 'AHI'...still nothing and surely there are posts with that in them...
2nd. Many time I am looking and reading and I want to post, but if I am not logged in it requires me to log in. When I do log in it starts me back out on the main page (it did the same thing at the old cpaptalk.com). Then I have to search for the post I wanted to reply to before I can do so. Is there any way to make that easier? So when you log in it goes back to what you were looking at? Other boards allow you to do that...
Thanks!

Hi Johnny, Chris,
I know this thread has the usual 'unsubscribe' button at the bottom. I have tried it but, I keep getting emails on this thread. Perhaps it is an announcement type topic that causes this?
Perhaps we need to separate this regular, very active thread from announcements? I am getting an email every few minutes

Hi, I can try to explain, just like the top of my post that you are reading now, if someone blanks out the subject field when they reply, then it will not show a subject on their post. The subject should default with whatever they replied to, so they are blanking it out. Also, if you read some older posts made on the old forum, I don't think they had this option so there may not be a title on any of the posts following the original topic.feeling_better wrote:Some threads like this one, always show the topic, but for others the topic is only at the first msg on the first page. How so?

I would like to see the topic name on every page, preferably at the top and bottom of that page.

Vanishing subjects
Chris, I see. So did you blank out the subject before you posted your msg? I have added a new subject... I have a feeling, when one simply quotes, either subject is not brought over (it becomes automatically blank), or that happens under some circumstances. Ideally, the subject by default should continue on quoting, IMO, so the new posts would show the subject of the quoted one. On a simple unquoted post, perhaps the original subject has to be put in by your php script by default, which may not be happening, at least under some circumstances? I think all of this is related if somebody had changed the subject along at some point in the thread...SleepPunk wrote:Hi, I can try to explain, just like the top of my post that you are reading now, if someone blanks out the subject field when they reply, then it will not show a subject on their post. Re: Vanishing subjects
Hee hee. No I blanked out the previous Subject. This one I just left as it was... a reply with quote to your subject: Vanishing subjects. Like I said, the example you sent me started with an old post from the old forum, and so the replies have blank subjects until we switched over to the new board, and then you see people having the subjects in their replies (unless they purposely clear out or change that field). humidifier <--testing something!feeling_better wrote:Chris, I see. Spellchecker In Place To Test
There is a spell check in place now for all of you to test out. I am just seeing if it works by trying to misspell words. Seems to have worked fine for me. When you are posting a new topic or replying to a post.... the Spell Check button is on the top left of the box you type into. Let us know if you all have any issues using it.

SleepPunk (Chris)
Is it possible to change the email topic reply notice "subject:" and "to:" headers from utf-8 back to ascii?
It's easier to filter stuff that way.
EDIT: Also I agree with Rested Gal - it would be nice to be in control of whether the cpapopedia entries show up at the bottom of your post.
