Chris, when was it effective? IMO, this spell checker does not catch many things. For example, if I have dif ference, it does not see the space after the dif; but red marks 'IMO' only. I am using the spell checker built into my Firefox browser, and it seems to be pretty good.

Just curiosity, why not use the spell checkers built into the browser, why do unnecessary work by your team? It is easy for a development team to get too attached to making things like the phpSpell work better, since they have already invested too much time on it?? Just a thought, trying to help you.

I like the Spell Check in Firefox and personally use it. But, many people prefer other browsers and have been requesting a spell checker built in to CPAPtalk. So, we aim to please. It wasn't THAT much work to install it and it's worth it. While we are focused on CPAPtalk, we better get as much done now while we can.

If I'm not mistaken, all essential oils will at some point go rancid with continued exposure to oxygen and heat. Some oils volatilize faster than others. Some are more easily absorbed into certain plastics than others. Continued exposure to some oils is known to break down the silicone in some of our masks. Absorbed oils in the tank and hose seem like the worst threat for lingering rancidity. And rancid oils smell terrible. If it's absorbed by the tank plastic or your hose, you'll never get it out. Why expose yourself to that? I suspect it's safer for your equipment to put essential oils on a pur-sleep pad next to the tank rather than in the tank.

Also, you can't just use any essential oil. For instance, pennyroyal is poisonous if ingested, even though it smells very minty. Be careful to choose only oils that are USDA food-grade 'GRAS' or 'Generally Recognized As Safe'.

I'm trying to enter my ResMed VPAP III machine in my equipment profile, but I can't find it in the drop down list and it apparently doesn't let me enter it in freeform. Is it in the profile under another name? I'm a complete 5 week old newb to CPAP.

Missing Link? There used to be a link to the CPAPAuction site from the old interface - (unless my long term short term memory loss added in something that wsasn't there to begin with!! ).

I vote: Underneath the very nice cpaptalk.com icon at the top, add two CPAP.com and CPAPAuction.com buttons....

Also new sleeping people Avatars seem to be popping up - i haven't tried that out yet (assuming it is new functionality), but it's kinda neat

I've noticed it elsewhere as well, one was with Snoredog's post but I can't remember the thread, sorry.

Looking at the default avatar size, and since the left column where avatars are a within a set width, I think it would be nice if our uploaded avatars were not reduced to a 100 pixel square limit. If the default available avatars are 150x150, why not make that the limit on size for uploaded avatars?

How do you check messages? I see no section

I really like the little "view first unread post" icon on the threads view. It's a pain when coming back to a thread that has grown to 20 pages and try to find where you left off.

Speaking of pages.... can we have a setting that increases the number of pages in our display settings? I have a very fast connection and computer and prefer getting a lot of pages at a time (Google = 100).

I'm guessing the news is pulled from some RSS feed with international subfeeds.
PHPBB3 is certainly capable of multi-lingual facility, making it an excellent
candidate for open-source international use. It does bring up a question -
I ask because I have no way of knowing whether the news article is really about OSA.

Offering alternative languages means translation of all the wisdom, product challenges,
cpapopedia, and a knowledgeable user group who can determine whether the post
is a real post or board spam.

What's going to be the language policy going forward on the board?

Thanks for pointing out the avatar issue. It should be allowing 150 pixel by 150 pixel but I got errors when I tried to upload and it is on the list of things to fix. There is no 'language policy' on the board. You all can talk in whatever language you choose. It is already on the buglist to remove those foreign stories from the news feed.

Anyone else? That is a little strange, but unless we get more instances of this sort of thing, I think I will chalk it up to a strange anomaly having to do with the coding we are still doing to fix other bugs on the board. If someone has more examples, let us know.

For all those wanting a fast way to get to CPAPAuction.com or CPAP.com there is the "CPAP Product News (View More)" in the middle of the Content Box (that also has CPAP and Sleep Apnea News and Popular Tags). That box will show newly listed items on CPAP.com and in the not too distant future will show Auctions Ending soonest from CPAPAuction.com. If you click on the link that says CPAP Product News (View More), then it will take you to an even more detailed view. Hope this helps.

Also, the avatar issue is fixed now. We have added M, F, and N/A for the gender fields since some had complained they had trouble seeing or knowing which symbols meant what. And now, you should be able to post another message a little bit sooner after your last post. We are still working on all of it over here. Thanks for all your feedback.

Hi All. We have now added a Print View button to each topic page. This should make things look a little nicer for those who need to print something from CPAPtalk. Woo hoo!
