He begged off. Said he had to work. I believe him. So far.

Tentatively we're planning on meeting up Tuesday night. I sent him an email to meet mid-way at this Middle Eastern restaurant - he's Vegetarian, and I like Lamb.

He hasn't written back yet, so I'm guessing he's at work and will respond this evening. If I don't hear from him by 7, I might call.

Or I might just let it go and see if he's dogging me.

Guy #2 hasn't called or written for a few days. Wondering about that, too.

Well, that's okay. I knew I was unlovable before I started this process.

LOL,
Babs

Unlovable?? I don't think so. I do believe there's someone out there everyone. Some just have to try harder to find their someone. It took me 9 years.

hey Babette!

I just saw your picture with the paisly shawl....awwwwwww !

You look like a very happy- easy-going person !

So I guess you like "L'Époque Victorienne" !
Carefull now ! Men from back then didn't seem to care much about the situation women were in....I guess you only care for the clothes, right?

Hehe ... the wife was watching a new 70's based show series the other night, last week, called Swingtown. The episode was about this couple having a swinger's party to raise legal fees for some porn star named "Harry Reams". I thought it was funny ... the name that is

Anyway, the wife and I met on Yahoo Personals ... seems to have worked out ok.

Oh, DreamStalker, you haven't seen enough porn films, have you? Click for Harry Reems Bio

I only know his name because of the mainstream porn movie, "Deep Throat," that was shown in "regular" theaters back in my college days. It was the topic of quite a few newspaper columns and movie reviews.

Yea, what Sharon said. You knock that "I'm not lovable" crap off right now! You know everyone on this forum loves you a bunch.

I mean it.

Babette,

Is there any possibility that spelling "apnea" correctly isn't enough? Maybe you should go with spelling, "apneic," or its more archaic form, "apnoeic"? I've always heard that one should set high standards.

Seriously, though, is it possible that you are coming across as a little too desperate and eager? Are you scaring the men off with your internet persona? My personal thought is that you are not a shy Image and retiring type...but I could be wrong. Image

Oh, men constantly claim to be scared of me. I suppose I'm just a Dragon Lady and a b*ll-buster and all that. I must say, I've only got two dead ex-boyfriends though, and you can't pin either one on me.

Yeah, I probably do come off as wildly desperate. Which is why I'm sitting back right now and waiting to see who calls or emails.

AND.... both guys have ads running on Craigslist. They might have other dates, too.

I'm easy, either way. It was a fun week, thinking I'd met someone nifty. If that's all it was, c'est la vie!

Doll - I'm worse than that - I'M A LIVING HISTORIAN! I don't just READ about history, I play it on TV! Well, not much on TV. But friends of mine have been on TV. I mostly just play dress up at various historic sites and attempt to educate folks about the people who lived at those sites. My speciality is women's history from 1750-1860, in the fur trade here in the Pacific Northwest, and in French Colonial Louisiana, aka Alabama. I like both Victorian and Georgian time periods, but I'm far more Georgian in my sensibilities.

I'm sure I would have been severely beaten in the Victorian age. Probably burned as a witch in the Georgian age, for that matter...

So....... Single sleepy girl is just hanging out waiting to see what happens next. I'll keep you posted. So far, nothing looms on the horizon.

Thanks for all the support. You guys are the BEST!!!!!

Well according to that link, I was only 12 years old when that movie came out so I have a good excuse

Besides, seems like it would be more fun to make your own movie than just watch

I offered to hook her up with a couple of desperate reinactors here in Texas but she turned me down. Would not consider coming to Texas!

Jerry, it's not that I wouldn't consider coming to Texas, it's just that you didn't specify whether those Inmates of the Old Folks Home had paid up their life insurance or not.
