still waiting and hoping - sigh

I have been submitting my request to please let me try this product again and again.

No luck - sigh

I have come to the conclusion that the free trial is only to be given to those who have numerous posts on this site. I have seen no one given the free trial with only a few posts.

I think this stinks! It should not be called a free trial but a lets give this to my friends at https://www.cpap.com who have lots of posts who will give me a good rating.

Politics.

Sigh

AHI lowering

Post by sleepyred » Thu Jul 26, 2007 6:29 am

Last night I tried 1 drop of fresh with 2 drops of creme. My AHI is yet again lower - 0.4. Lowest ever. My hubby loves this combo the best. Now he's wishing you had a unit for non-cpapers! He loves it if I turn the machine on before I hook the tubing to my mask so he can get a good whif of whatever I've mixed that night.

I've been using pur-sleep for 10 nights now and not only has my sleep improved (I was struggling with staying asleep) but my numbers have steadily improved.

Thanks SleepGuy!

Tried Babette's parallel bottle suggestion last night and it sure didn't work for me. With the bottle exactly parallel, instead of coming to the end of the bottle and dropping to the pad, it just rolled down and began to fill the lip of the insert piece. I tried twice and ended up with a mess each time.

Anyway, I had the best two nights sleep with my Pur-Sleep combo. Last night I mixed 1 drop Rosa, 2 drops Peace, and one drop Paradise. I was in girly smell heaven.

Unfortunately..and this makes me so mad...my Remstar M series took TWO days in a row off with no information on my card reader. I've never had it blank two days in a row. I have no idea how my AHI was. I feel like I slept better and I feel more rested, but before I attribute it to the Pur-Sleep, I want numbers. Stay tuned!

If you go to the Pur-Sleep website, there is a sister site that sells EO lamps. That might make a nice surprise gift for your hubby!

And Lindy7, I am not a friend of SleepGuy! I don't know what the criteria is, but I hardly think he comes here to check our post record before deciding to send out a test kit. I'm sorry you're disappointed, but please don't accuse Pur-Sleep of slanting the results due to biased distribution of testers! Speaking for myself, if I don't like the product, or if I can see something to improve or something that bugs me, I'm going to be totally honest.

no sample kit for me

Thanks for your post. Of course, I am sure anyone who tests the product will be honest in their critique. And I am sure not many are friends of Sleep Guy.

I am just commenting that all who were given the free trial product worth at least $40, were those who had lots of posts and who were compliant in using their machines.

There was not one who posted their experience with the product who only had a few posts, like myself. If someone was given the trial with only a few posts I will be totally surprised.

I asked to be a tester several times and was not approved.

I can only surmise that this experiment is slanted towards those who automatically will like the product and "unknowns" were totally left out.

This is politics and I think an unfair use of this forum to get essentially good reviews and to give free test kits to some but not others who ask.

How can you offer something and exclude some who ask?

Hi Lindy7,
Sleepguy opened the free trial of the new diffuser and three bottle starter kit to the first ten people to send a private email in response to a post quite a while ago. He works hard to sell his stuff, but you have to remember how often posts jump back to the current activity area and check your dates. I think you are way off base.

I am not a prolific poster at all and I recieved the trial product (I mainly just lurk for information and post if I feel I can offer some assistance or state what has worked for me.). However, my wife is pregnant and as with her two previous ones she has an extremely sensitive nose so I have been banned by her from introducing any of the oils (most did not appeal to her and the one that did she said she can not have the entire upstairs smelling like it all the time.) So, I will not be trying the oils until sometime in early to mid December.

Politics?

I think it is unfair for government leaders elected to represent "real" people use public ariwaves to get essentially good reviews and to give free tax breaks to the wealthy but not the rest of us who are unable to afford big campaign contributions.

How can they offer tax breaks to corporate businesses and exclude those of us who have a greater need for a tax break? ... THAT is politics!
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Hi lindy. I'm very sorry you were not included in the trial. It was set up as a first-come, first-served matter with no bias at all towards anyone. It stands to reason that people spending more time on the boards were among those to sign up and are among those posting on this thread. I ended up accepting far more than 10 people but, as you can see on the trial thread, it was officially closed at least a week before your first PM. With the exception of one person (who thought the trial was for a mask), product was sent to every person who sent a PM from the time the trial opened until it closed. A number of people new to the boards were in the group, as were a number of people who have yet to post anything. There was no bias; free product was even sent to Canada. I do not personally know anyone on the forum and did not pick and choose from among applicants as you suggest.

There is a money-back guarantee on the product so trying it for yourself is a rather low-risk proposition.

Best Regards,

SG

Babette wrote:First off, here is my bottle use tip:

To ensure getting single drops from these bottles, hold them parallel to the pad. It will take a few seconds, then drops will begin rolling out. Watch closely, and tilt the bottle back upright after you get the required number of drops out. It takes a little while to start, but when it does, it DOES!

DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE attempting to get oil out. DO NOT TIP BOTTLE UPSIDE DOWN. It works best if you just hold the bottle steady at 90 degrees to the pad, and let the oil drops roll out.

One of my favorite scents is Ambergris, and that's what I was using for a few nights before Pur Sleep came.

I'd be interested in the new formula of Clear. If I like it better, I'd trade my current bottle of Clear to someone who doesn't want their Spice.

Cheers,
B.
Thanks very much for the extremely helpful bottle directions. I think it will end up on the website if you don't mind.

Also, by the way, whatever you're using that smells like ambergris is not an essential oil (which is fine). Ambergris is an amazing aroma though I've never smelled the real thing, which is extremely rare and worth far more than gold. It's the smell that has been imitated for centuries in India, called "fragrant amber."
Bret, you certainly can use anything I wrote. But I need to amend the above directions. I tried to follow them as written last night (to test them) and discovered I'd made an error.

Hold the bottle at about 45 degrees, with the tip pointing down. Not all the way perpendicular. If you hold it at 90 degrees, nothing happens. I also tipped it perpendicular first, then brought it back to 45 degrees when I saw the drop forming. Hey, I'm not the engineer...

And thanks for that about Ambergris. I do love the smell, and sometimes I find "Amber" that is the same. The first "Ambergris" perfume I found was by Caswell & Massey, but they've discontinued it, so I'm on a constant quest to replicate it. It's my favorite perfume.

Cheers,
B.

Try putting a drop of the forumula on a cotton ball and tucking it inside his pillowcase.

Okay, someone smarter than me should write the directions on how best to get the drops out and control the flow.

Anyway, Lindy, I BOUGHT MY STARTER PACK. Just setting you straight on that.

Last night I tried two drops of Spice alone. Very pleasant. Slept well, and didn't get up for bathroom. We may have a winner!

I think I'd like to try some more formulas now. I'll have to put in an order after payday!

Cheers,
B.

Lindy, I got my pur-sleep from another member who decided he preferred the older version of it. It was not political, just plain friendly.

And I think it is good business for SleepGuy to let a few people trial it and write honest opinions and get feedback to improve his product, but he can't give it away to everyone. The idea is to have a business with reasonable prices, not run a giveaway scheme.

I think his prices are reasonable, considering the complex nature of the product (essential oil blends and a ceramic holder, hand-made diffuser pads).

I can honestly say that I do not know sleep guy nor am I a regular poster. I'm new to cpap having been diagnosed in March of 2007. this is all new to me. I read the post one day offering a free trial if you will help to critique the product. I checked out the website, got information and sent the PM. I don't think there was any bias at all, as truthfully I know no one from this site. I do like the product. I've been sleeping so hard and waking up very refreshed, just as promised.

WAAHHHH!!! I'm so tired.

I have been submitting my request to please let me try this product again and again
as i recall, lindy7, your request was posted after the call for participants had closed...i remember reading your post and thinking ":( that's unfortunate that it was too late"; people were sending pm's from the minute bret posted his offer and there were two separate calls for participants, one for anyone who wanted to try it, and one for people who were struggling with issues that might compromise their ability to be compliant, so it wasn't just for people who are doing well or who have been on cpap for a long time
I have come to the conclusion that the free trial is only to be given to those who have numerous posts on this site. I have seen no one given the free trial with only a few posts
the member who goes by 'canyongirl' has only 23 posts as i write this, so she doesn't fall into your category, however she was chosen as a participant...and as socknitster and babette said, some of the reviews are from people who chose to buy their own or negotiate trades, not just free trial participants
I think this stinks! It should not be called a free trial but a lets give this to my friends at https://www.cpap.com who have lots of posts who will give me a good rating.
i understand your disappointment at not being chosen, but really, no need for this..
...besides, stick around for a while, read more threads and you'll see that people really don't pull their punches around here much of the time ; there is an older thread about pur-sleep that you could check out and you'll see that there was quite a balanced representation, not to mention an all-out war about the safety of the original diffuser...

since you seem genuinely interested in trying the product, i really hope that you will choose to purchase your own starter kit and start getting some good rest...that's all any of us here are trying to do
