Very interesting. At $170 I don't want to be the lab rat either. I wish they showed actual photos of the device rather than drawings.

Interesting. I know nothing about this kind of thing, but I'm wondering how they could make the cloth weave tight enough to keep a complete seal with no air leaking through the cloth. Anybody have a thought on that?

Man, that would truly irritate me, cutting off my mouth like that. I'm claustrophobic and just HATED the OptiLife covering my mouth.

Ya'll let me know how you like it.

I contacted these folks to try an obtain a demo from them, but was unable to convince them to send one. They said they are not intrested in putting their product into brick and mortar DME's at this point.

They're delusional if they think someone's going to plop down $170 with an ad like that.

Although it does make me think...why don't they use the air being pumped to the mask to create the seal? I know that some masks use the air to help make the seal, but I'm talking about an inflatable mask. If the outer surface of the mask was rigid, and the headgear was attached to this rigid surface, couldn't the mask siphon off some of the air to inflate it and seal it against your face?

Anyone want to go in with me to develop the perfect mask???

Cheers,

Cathy

Do they have any idea what they are doing? The dude in the artist rendering appears to be mouth breathing big time while wearing their mask.

at $170 a pop for a cloth mask you'd think they could have sprung for a photog instead of a cartoonist so you could at least see what you were getting for that amount of money.

Hopefully the person that buys it unseen isn't allergic to canvas, looks like someone may have cut up their camping tent

I bet it is comfortable as far as masks go, but biggest concern would be leaks. Maybe there is no designated exhaust port and they rely on leak to exhaust CO2.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Hi ,
I emailed the company and got a response from them.
Also got a picture of a guy wearing the mask.
below is the response from them.
If you email me I will send you the picture.
swtsassy65@yahoo.com

Hello Sherry, and thank you for your inquiry.

The SleepWeaver™ CPAP mask was just released in April, and so far has been physically shown only in the western Pennsylvania area, although there have been many internet inquiries as well.

The patients that are using it love it. It leaves no marks on the face, and it almost feels like there is no mask on the face at all.

It has been tested at all pressures.

I have attached a picture of it in use. One size fits all, due to the nature of the way the mask seals itself.

<<...>>

It can be used with one, two, or three straps for headgear.

They are in stock, and you can order one with a credit card at the website.

Thanks again for your interest!

Regards,

Hans Werner

Hi,

I was wondering do you have pitcures of the mask not just drawings. Also how

long has the mask been around and what are customer feedback on the mask.

Is there a pressure it can not handle?

Thank you

Sherry

You can see in the zoomed drawings that his lips are closed, just smiling.

If you click on the items down at the bottom, then hit the enlarge image you can see the actual mask on a mannequin head. With the new synthetic materials it defintiely is feasible. But the price point is too high for sure.

I'd be curious to see the inside of this mask, and what makes it tick or rather what makes it stick.....

Circadiance SleepWeaver™ Cloth Nasal CPAP mask

Post by CircadianceMan » Fri Aug 24, 2007 11:27 am

Came across this posting, and yes the All Cloth SleepWeaver™ (patent pending) mask is very new, so few have heard of it. It is available at http://www.circadiance.com and there is a trial program (with administrative fee if no comfortable fit is obtained). Fitting success rate is over 85% so far, with no reports of allergic reactions to date. Most patients report not feeling the mask on the face at all, and having no marks on the face in the morning. Patient reviews will be available on the site in the very near future. The material is airflow impermeable and there is a pattern of holes laser cut into the front that serves as exhaust valve. If you prefer to get your mask through your homecare provider (DME), ask them to contact us, we'll be happy to work with them.
