Does anyone else find it ironic that we worry about the SPAM here?

I've actually seen SPAM that has more to offer than this entire thread.

Anyway... don't be so upset about stupid comment about French Canadian People!!

I am French Canadian and I consider myself as an American... Unless some French Canadian and even some English Canadian!!!

Canada is just theoricaly an independent country but in fact... in practice... Canada is more like a US State... May be with some politics latitude...

Don't worry about people insulting me in this thread... I can take insults without problem...

In life we always find people that don't like us and it is normal...

The biggest mistake to do is wanting that like us...

Eric .... The French Canadian...

OK, here we go, or at least continue.

First, I watch (only) FOX cable because I do not want someone else who knows whats best for me to present only their view to me. Iwould rather have both sides so I can make my own decision.

Earlier in this thread I PM'd EricF t find out if he was French French or Canadian French because to me it makes a big difference. I admire the quebecois for rigorously trying to preserve/defend their language and their culture. It is what I do/will do here to preserve English as our language and our American way of life as we are overtaken by the culture and language coming from our South.

However I view the French French as definitely not our allies in the War On Terror, and bordering on being our enemy or at least active allies of our enemy. What's really kind of amusing is that that vaunted elite French French culture will be overtaken by another culture it won't be that vile American one, it will be Shira.

Odd, that's exactly the reason why I DON'T limit myself to a single news source, but try to keep up on FOX, MSN, CNN plus BBC and a few other international sources.

Only Fox Nuisance Channel viewers honestly believe Fox presents "both sides" of the issue.

Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine. I don't care how much you believe "everyone else is lying to you", the more you limit yourself to one source of news, the more you are exactly letting someone else do your thinking for you. Even if Fox (and the rest) had absolutely no political bias whatsoever, there's still editing for time. Someone is choosing what to put on the air based on what will sell ad time, and the single best way to at least minimize the extent to which one source or another doesn't consider a story 'sexy' enough for their air/pages/whatever is to get your news from several different sources.

Liam, who misses the days of actual "journalism" in American news media.

It doesn't matter much which news source you watch, If their lips are moving they are putting their bias on the information you are getting. Jim

Interesting comments. None of you are as clever or well informed as you think you are. FYI - I watch very little television but do read several different points of view daily from various newspapers, magazines, etc. that include various points of view and coverage. I have a serious dislike for the French and the other contries that would tear the U.S. down. I don;t see it as being racist or anything of the sort - You will notice that I said nothing about black, red, white, latino or any other race - Just an extreme dislike for those that like to put the knife in our back when it is turned, doesn;t matter what color they are. I have relatives buried at Normandy and am disgusted at the manner in which we are viewed in France and the way Americans are treated there - Yes, I have been to France, but will not be going again, nor do I buy anything that is made in France. I also take all the precautions I can to avoid buying Canadian products. Were it not for us neither FRance or Canada would exist today. So yes, I am well informed, did know what Dr. clever was getting it, etc. - It was actually him that took the bait.

Dear guest, you are obviously ashamed of your views or you would show your face. It is people like you who give Americans a bad name around the world. Ask your god which people he would like you to kill off. Do you want the planet inhabited by americans only?

Sex, politics, racism, sarcasm. Anyone up for a good religious debate this Sunday?

How about your favorite recipe? At least that could be useful...

Rick, dangerously close to enjoying myself.

Edit: Elle got to religion before I could post

Being unclever is not as bad as being ignorant.

Perhaps Americans like you are the very reason we are negatively viewed and treated badly (wherever that may be). Maybe you are not a racist in your own eyes ... but you hate classes of people, consisiting of many of whom do not even know you exist -- much less even done you any harm. Perhaps an anger management class would benefit you?

As for your ignorant historical perspective, were it not for the French, the American war for independence would not have resulted in the country we have today. Perhaps an American history class would benefit you?
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Interesting comments.
I'll say.

None of you are as clever or well informed as you think you are.
So I guess that would leave only . . . Dang. good thing for us that you've arrived, Einstein. Can you help us?

I watch very little television but do read several different points of view daily from various newspapers, magazines, etc. that include various points of view and coverage.
The fact that various points of view are available does not imply that they are appreciated. My parakeet's cage is papered with the WSJ and the New Republic, and I do see him glancing at the print, but I never knew . . .

I don;t see it as being racist or anything of the sort
Despite your virtually superhuman powers of introspection?

did know what Dr. clever was getting it, etc. - It was actually him that took the bait.
You Trickster! You lulled me right to sleep, Sir. You played me like a violin. I was eating out of the palm of your hand, all the while and unknowingly allowed you demonstrate how ill informed all of us are.

Geez, I wish that I would have never given you the forum to make such brilliant observations public, while simultaneously making a monkey out of me. Now, everyone will know the "truthiness" of what you speak. The genie is now indeed out of the bottle! (Note to self: this guy is both tricky and smart!l Approach with extreme caution, and do not, repeat NOT, underestimate him.)

None of you are as clever or well informed as you think you are.
But, guess what:
I am well informed
I think this just about says it all. Obviously, someone has pee'ed in the gene pool.

As Louie Armstrong once said:
Some people, if they don't know, you can't tell him.

BTW, ever considered starting your own Blog? It could be about anything. For instance, CPAP and related issues. Just a thought.

And next time could you tell us another fairy tale about the French Contribution to the American War of Independence?

My history book records that
"after the outbreak of armed rebellion in 1775, many in France sympathized with the colonists, and volunteered their services and in many cases their personal wealth to help equip, train and lead the fledgling Continental army. While maintaining formal neutrality, France assisted in supplying arms, uniforms and other military supplies to the American colonists."
Any competent historian would agree with the following quote:
"French soldiers became the hard anvil upon which the new American nation was forged and the chains of British imperial domination were finally broken."
As Yogi Berra would say, "you could look it up".

I'm sorry. You'll have to forgive me for this, since I haven't followed this ridiculous thread and have only sampled a few choice posts until I start to heave, and then thankfully, I move on.

But please tell me......

Why let ANY of this rent space in your heads?
