Stuart sent out a link at Christmas to YouTube subscribers and the ones he recommended are on there. I bought the blue stand and it’s been great: https://m.harrietcarter.com/715213.html ... lsrc=aw.ds
He uses another one too called the “hose buddy” but I didn’t get that one and just used some Velcro ties from Walmart to hold the hose tight. Worked for me.

This is the hose buddy that I've been using since I started Cpap. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/HoseBu ... ion-System

Hey PR or really anyone with knowledge on this, palerider wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 4:10 pmTechnically, pressure must be maintained at the end of expiration, since the airway won't close during exhalation, that's why the professionals refer to it as "PEEP' Positive End Expiration Pressure.ragtopcircus wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:35 am- Pressure must be maintained while exhaling to continue stenting the airway open.
I'm running at a PS of 6, have been up to 8 at one point without any sign of centrals, like you said, different people, different settings.ragtopcircus wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:35 am. It's a balancing act, and everyone is different. I'm most comfortable with a pressure difference of 4.4 and can tolerate a lot more than that, but my wife can't go over 2 without getting centrals.
When your setting PS, what exactly are you looking for on the charts that makes you feel like your reached the best PS setting? Is it tidal volume, FL chart, comfortability, a combination of all, etc? Thanks!

I don't look for anything....I go by how I feel because then the other stuff looks good.

If it don't feel good why would I want to use something that doesn't feel good?

Hose management: At home I have the end section of a casting rod,
duck-taped to a swivel plant hanger. (Rube Goldberg style)
I attach elastic bands to the ferrules, and hang the hose from that.
When traveling, I have clothespins, safety pins, and elastic head bands,
to apply as needed to curtains or headboards.

I almost never look at the tidal volume, because... what would I be looking for? There's no 'goal' because different people breathe differently. Your individual TV is pretty much set by your body's need to get rid of CO2, unless you've got OHV.
Like pugsy, it just 'felt' good.
Nice rounded inhalations are nice to see on the flow rate chart, which of course means nothing on the FL chart.

Good news from last night: I slept through the whole night! I got the Bleep figured out pretty well.
I didn't feel very refreshed upon waking up, and these are my results:
The fact that the obstructions are happening halfway through sleep, a couple of hours apart, makes me suspect that they are REM related. But I could be wrong.
I got these results with the works... Mandibular advancement device, mouth tape, headband to keep mouth tape in place, cervical collar.

Re: I'm a dentist treating myself! CPAP Results... Advice please?
I slept with my back against my wall last night to try forcing myself not to get on my back, and got no obstructive apneas.
I realize I've been posting my results a lot, so from now on I'm just going to be posting once every 3-4 days if anything new happens or needs to change.
For now, here are some instructions I got from Dr. Zaghi for my myofunctional therapy. According to him, EVERYBODY should have their whole tongue pressed up against the roof of their mouths, breathing through their nose, except when talking and eating. If you're wondering how that should feel, go ahead and swallow, and note where your tongue ends up on the roof of your mouth while swallowing. That is the correct position. Hope this helps someone out there!

Re: I'm a dentist treating myself! CPAP Results... Advice please?
I think that's BS. my tongue isn't "pressed against the roof of my mouth" it's relaxed. Trying to press it against the roof of your mouth will just result in muscle strain and over exertion.

Re: I'm a dentist treating myself! CPAP Results... Advice please?
Hmm, this may be just a matter of semantics. I meant to say that it should rest against the roof of the mouth. I may have said "pressed against" because I've been consciously trying to keep it up there. Dr. Zaghi told me that after a while it feels less like an exertion and more natural.
