One of the most appealing parts of the sleep study for me was the idea of the video monitoring. It seems this would answer many of the questions about what’s happening in my sleep.
Has anyone been successful video-recording an entire nights sleep with an iPhone or GoPro or whatever? I would imagine the issue for iPhones would be with storage capacity. Maybe a camera that sends data to the cloud for storage or something? Or maybe just a large capacity memory card and camera plugged in to power so the battery doesn’t die? Surely someone has done this, yes?
KTeague on this forum for one. I think her video is called "Sleep Dancing". She was showing the periodic limb movement disorder.
EDIT: kteague is the correct user name. All lower case.

I use a $20 Wyze cam. Set it to record to SD card. Has IR(night mode) and can be set to record only when it senses motion. I recorded in standard definition and never came close to filling the SD card. Will also send to cloud storage. I never have recorded an entire night. Just cam-sensed movement.

Have you tried a pillow mask? If you are moving around when you sleep, possibly you might be knocking the mask around and it might be losing its seal and causing leaks?? I went through similar situation where results were great for first week or two, then I spent five+ weeks of not sleeping through the night due to leaks. Dreamwear and Resmed both have a versions where the tube is built into the frame so you can sleep on your side a bit.

Thank you. Yes I have tried both of those masks and found they both leak more than the P10 (for me anyway).
Last night was another 6hr night with no wake-ups that I can recall. I don’t think I got any REM sleep and I didn’t dream (that I recall). I haven’t looked at the chart. I don’t understand why I’m not sleeping deeper and longer.

Actually not remembering dreams doesn't mean you didn't dream..
Remembering dreams means you woke up during or right at the end of a dream enough to form a memory of the dream.
Remembering dreams is actually not a good thing because it involves waking up which is of course unwanted when it happens a lot.
And we can dream in any sleep stage...it's not just REM.
Lack of remembering any dreams doesn't tell you anything one way or the other as to if you got to deeper stages or even REM.
My guess is you did...and simply didn't wake up which is a good thing.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Sorry to hear that. I would not like to see leaks at the levels you are getting. That probably isn't helping.
If your AHI is pretty good, maybe there are other things that are interfering with sleep? 6 hours is probably still not enough sleep to feel well-rested (per my sleep doc+books I've read). Any chance you can increase that to 7+ hours? If the time stamps on your charts are accurate, you are going to bed in the wee hours and waking up after 8. Any chance you could go to bed earlier?
Is it possible that there are things/other people waking you up around 8 that could be quieted down? earplugs? or darker curtains?

I wanted to use one of those to record me while I slept.
Mrs. Dog Slobber didn't want anything to do with it, saying, "
I don't want that thing to record us when we're intimate."
I told her, "
You have nothing to worry about, it only records when you move."
Let's just say, I didn't the cam. Even if I did get one, the chances of it recording an intimate moment has severely dropped.

Well in my opinion she’s a bit spoiled. If I wasn’t single I’d be asking my wife to watch me sleep and take notes.
Obviously she has no idea how much HER mood will improve if you get a good nights rest. Otherwise she might be a little more willing. Good luck!

Beats me.
My room is blacked out. It’s quiet as can be. I work till 10:00 most nights. I don’t anticipate ever going to bed before midnight. I’m not sure going to bed earlier would matter. I’d be fine sleeping 3am-11:00am. It doesn’t matter to me when the 8hrs happen.
There are nights I have no leaks but they are seldom. Even on those nights I rarely sleep 8hrs. I have no idea why.

Interesting. Maybe it’s psychological but I always feel better rested when I have dreams (that I remember having).
Aside from the dreams, I’m not getting any of the “memory consolidation” phase of sleep. It’s incredibly obvious when I try to play a classical guitar passage that I learned or practiced the day before and can barely recall it. Or when I go to work and can barely function. Can’t remember names of people I’ve worked with for years etc..
It’s so depressing.

I've posted about the inner nostril tickle/sneeze thing before and didn't get much traction.
Some have suggested regular trimming of the nostril hairs. (Use rounded-tip manicure scissors.)
i use a weed whacker myself....

Have you tied a larger pillow size? With pillows, the only places leaks can happen is at the nostril.

I don’t work every night. On the nights I don’t work I still stay up late. On days where I cannot bear to stay awake, I often succumb to a nap which will insure an even later bedtime. Sometimes if the nap is too late in the day or too long (say from 6pm-10pm), then I’m totally screwed and will likely be awake till 5am.
I wrestled with masks for 14 months and counting. I’ve tried all the pillow sizes. Medium is my size. I can also use large. Small is just too small. I use the women’s headgear for an extra tight fit. The headgear is non-adjustable so it is what it is.
Just woke up today. The screen said .08 AHI and the usual terrible -6hrs “sleep”. I don’t recall waking up once during the night. I don’t feel rested. I have grown to hate looking at my charts on sleepyhead as it seems to have a negative psychological effect (call me crazy). Typically at this point I will make some coffee and see how well I can play my guitar. If I can’t remember songs I’ve known for years, it’s gonna be rough day.
