Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
Can cholesterol meds mess with sleep cycles?
I take Fenofibrate.
The last few nights look decent to me. Even a few nights over 6hrs which is very rare. But I still feel like I got no sleep when I wake up. Maybe it's my imagination but sometimes it feels like I'm not all the way asleep but more like in a state somewhere between asleep and awake. It's as if I'm a VERY light sleeper now when I've been a very heavy sleeper my entire life. It's like I can still hear myself thinking when I'm asleep. I feel like I'm never falling into deep sleep.

Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
Are you experiencing any of the known side effects ( https://www.rxlist.com/fenofibrate-side ... m#overview )?
Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
No. Not really experiencing any of the listed side effects.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 12:24 pmAre you experiencing any of the known side effects ( https://www.rxlist.com/fenofibrate-side ... m#overview )?
When I first got them I read everything and didn’t see anything about sleep issues. I just checked the link you provided and also saw nothing. The trusted FDA says no so I suppose I got my answer.
Based on my charts above, would you make any further adjustments to the machine? Would you say those nights look good?

Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
I'm not an expert, but the leak chart indicates a leak from the minute you start therapy, which I don't think is normal. I just opened my charts and on mine, I see nothing on the chart, then a spike, then nothing, then a spike, etc. Do you sense a leak anywhere? Perhaps that is interfering with the machine's operation? You are starting at a minimum of 12 it's not increasing much from there. Is it worth trying to lower a little, to 11.5 to see if the leaks decrease? Especially with a pillow mask, I think leak rates should be lower than yours.

Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
The leak level is very small and shouldn't be interfering with the CPAP therapy or the data reported.
But, I wonder about that small leak. Are you getting dry eyes from the leak?

Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
No dry eyes that I’ve noticed. The only eye annoyance comes from the p10 straps being too close.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 6:30 amThe leak level is very small and shouldn't be interfering with the CPAP therapy or the data reported.

I have yet to get a cam and video myself. I still have no idea about the leaks. I generally only look for the gray areas of “large leaks”.

Beats me. It looks like I have a steady leak rate of about 8,0 from the minute the machine turns on. Are you saying yours is 0? I always assumed the 8.0 leak was simply the mask exhaust.Spot123 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:54 amI'm not an expert, but the leak chart indicates a leak from the minute you start therapy, which I don't think is normal. Oh dear. This is a bit of a shock to me. Definitely messing with my head now.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:37 amThe leak is so steady at 8.0 for hours/nights, that I wonder if there is a small leak in a connector or a pinhole in the hose.
It’s a fairly new setup. I had to buy brand new mask and hose a few months ago after the dog mistook it for a chew toy.
I’ll go back a few months to when I had my previous P10 and hose and see if I had the 8 leak rate.

Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
Well, it's a small leak that shouldn't affect the good therapy your reports are showing. However,
... I'm like you in that I would want to know why it is there.

Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
I think you nailed it. I went back in the charts and there is a noticeable difference after I got my replacement setup. I have no idea where the leak is or if I should even bother trying to find it. Can I just leave it and replace everything later when It wears out more? I mean does a leak that small make a difference?ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:37 amThe leak is so steady at 8.0 for hours/nights, that I wonder if there is a small leak in a connector or a pinhole in the hose.

a leak of that size doesn't matter to the machine, and as long as it's not disturbing your sleep, it's nothing to worry about.Sluggish wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 12:36 pmI think you nailed it. Re: Sleep study costs and expectations
Respironics machines will include the exhaust in the graph, while Resmed ignores it and only shows the extra leak. Like the others mentioned, sounds like a pinhole somewhere. Unless it gets big or bothers you, I wouldn't worry about. Just make sure you have a spare of everything already on hand (should do that anyway). So, if you do suddenly have a larger hole, you don't have to wait for new supplies to arrive.Sluggish wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 9:25 amBeats me.
