I really don't know how any FF mask could be any smaller or lighter than a
Hybrid without it's chin-flap. Now if it would only fit more people better.

The against-the-face seal has seemed insecure and illogical to me since i started this process. I guess I reason that the nares and the closed lip interfaces like the oracle experience much less variability than those that have to contend with the vast reaches of the face, and in my case a beard.

Needless to say, I am a newbie and I haven't yet tried a full face mask. I'd like to try the hybrid. Are there any other masks that are particularly good at coping with the beard/mustache problem?

Look at the E2-DigiMask made by Hans Rudolph. It is a customized mask. It seems like a good idea (but remember those changing facial contours with position changes). Never used one so I don't know if the mask actually works or not. http://www.rudolphkc.com/detail.php?pid=9
Have you tried looking at your face in a mirror in different positions? Plus remember some people are still in their "firm" years-and some of us are not.
I'd settle for a 6 month supply of a good non-irritating, easily removed, hypoallergenic, glue with every mask.

The mask material, or at least the part of it, has to be
*Soft enough to mold itself to the changing countours of the sleeping, around-turning, no longer firm, human face.
*Strong enough to withstand the pressure from the machine
*Light
*Not reacting to every breath, so as to avoid pulsation,

Taking all that into account, a glue (or sealant) like K suggests might be the better option.

Good luck on your design. As far as the machine design I'd like to see a thinner more flexable hose, perhaps a little longer like 8 feet. Seems 6 is too short and 10 is too long.

Oh-how about some sort of small flap for a straw-so I can get a drink after I've glued my mask on!

I use the 8 ft tubing when traveling.Think I read on this forum that up to 10 ft the length of the tubing would not make a significant difference in treatment pressure-can anyone confirm my interpretation of that.
