You could do far worse than Sibelius' Tapiola as something to listen to while sitting quietly
with eyes closed and just relaxing. A somewhat different interpretation is found in the Karajan version:

A documentary on Sibelius includes a somewhat truncated explanation and is found at:

Here's hoping for continued progress - and yes, do give up on the keyboard ruffles and flourishes
Tapiola has got to be my favorite Sibelius Tone Poem - Something wonderfully Arboreal about it
Thank You for the Karajan rendition - & Thank You especially for your encouragement
I feel so much better than I did just a few days ago

It is not that we ask that you give up your individuality, rather it is that one must accept the communication styles of one's audience if one wants to be understood. Just as acting styles of the early days of movies now look stilted and false, so does histrionics and drama in everyday conversation between friends and acquaintances. Please, forego the visual hyperbole and speak to us so we can understand the substance of your progress, not the drama.

Great News about sleeping a bit!

My very first goal with the machine was to be able to sleep with the machine at all. Then I worked on sleeping with the machine for longer and longer uninterrupted periods. You are well on your way.

I have a suggestion for your Eustachian tube issue. Not sure it will work, but it's worth a try. Get one of those foam ear plug sets and put only ONE in. I'm not sure if it should go in the ear with the problem or the other ear, but it may equalize the pressure and eliminate the problem. You'll know right away if it's helping or not. There's a scientific explanation for why this may work (if it does) but I can't remember what it is. Note that ear plugs may increase the bone conduction of the CPAP sound, so it may be a trade off.

There's something funny about CPAP sound. When I was using my noisy PR, I would hear it loud and clear when I first put on the mask at night. When I awoke in the morning, I couldn't hear it at all! Sometimes I'd put my hand up to the vent to make sure it was still on. I guess the brain gets used to the sound.

RE the stylized text. Do what you like, but understand that you may lose some valuable help if it drives helpful people crazy. Nobody is obligated to read and respond, and some very good people just won't. Personally, I ignore people who post in long-winded paragraphs without a break. My eyes just cannot follow and it's not worth the effort.

Think of it as if you were watching someone constantly swinging their leg up and down in front of you... likely unaware of even doing it, but how crazy it drove everyone else watching while they were trying to concentrate on other things.

I am NOT Ignoring you people - I have in fact been depending on you
Well do the smaller Caps help at all ? - & I HAVE curtailed the color

You folks seem to be telling me - that if I do NOT express myself in what is here
considered to be the conventional fashion, then I am probably NOT welcome here

Keep in mind, as a synesthete, you are the only one doing the tasting - apparently no one else here.

Japanese proverb: "It is the nail that sticks out..... that gets hammered down" Meditate on that concept a while.... next time you're in the woods.

You misunderstand, or I didn't explain myself well; it is not that you're ignoring the comments, it is, rather, that your posts may be ignored. Thus, you may find it difficult to communicate in an atmosphere where no one will hear you. "If a tree falls..." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_a_tree ... n_a_forest
Also, it is difficult for others to respond to questions if they feel no one is listening.

Oh Yes ! - I owe this community - I didn't think it possible
& I will try that trick you suggest !

I will THINK on these THINGS - & torment you good people no further for now

I will Hook-UP in a bit - and wish US ALL pleasant dreams for this coming Night

Re Synesthesia - A Blessed Curse - A Cursed Blessing
I will say this & then I will speak no more of it
I will try to find ways to mitigate the bother it causes you

BUT
It is the way I THINK - the way I PERCEIVE
Words are NOT just Words - Sounds are NOT just Sounds
Even Shapes, Size, Intensities, are all pregnant with Felt Meanings

In an unfiltered reality the sensory modalities are Combined
Unitary/Mixed - PARADOXICAL - & they come at you like that -
When I speak or write I can't be trying to filter things out - to be separating them
When I speak the Synesthetic experience is mine - When I write it becomes to some
........................................................................ small extent - HARD COPY

It is One of the reasons -
That whenever I - 'quote' - or post - I have keep the lines Short

I'll tell you this - When I was in school I had one Hell of a time - I got hammered a Lot

Okay, okay! I give up! All this reminds me of the stereotypical American tourist in a new country who really believes two things are the absolute truth:
1) It's all the fault of the natives for not understanding me when I am speaking - why don't they learn my language?
2) If I wave my hands about and speak ever louder they should understand.
I don't want to learn a new language or alphabet at my age - I already have too many fragments of language floating around in my head, there is no room for more (of any color, type size, style, or philosophical flavor).
