I know this is sensitive, but once I get used to my machine, and I am less tired, with things improve between me and my wife, you know, in the bedroom? She can use the "I have a headache" excuse, but my falling asleep too soon is no longer a good "excuse". Any opinions out there? Its a bummer to wear the mask, and look like I'm from outer space, but I think it will be worth it. Need some moral support from you cpap users.
Thanks a million,

Speaking from experience, all I can say is, keep it up - the CPAP use, that is!
TBGuy,
Along with a host of other ailments, aches and pains that you wouldn't necessarily attribute to sleep deprivation, things in the bedroom should definitely improve after using CPAP. You should see a marked increase in libido and improvement in sexual performance.
You may not see an immediate change, rather a more gradual one, but things will improve.
Best of luck,
Kurtchan

Why is it that the female view of romance is almost always associated with financial expenditures? And gals accuse guys of being shallow! Another example: You know how much a wedding can cost nowadays? Do you know how little it would cost if guys planned them?take her out to a nice romantic dinner and buy her something special
In case anyone is wondering, I have been happily married for 28 years and my wife agrees with my position on this and would definitely tell me in no uncertain terms if she wasn't. If I want to have sex, I just ask at an opportune moment. Most often the answer is "yes." The worst answer I get is "How about later?" and later usually means sometime the same day or evening and I am always OK with that. It is all about trust and communications, not financial expenditures. Nothing has changed with CPAP.

I also was concerned about this, but that is one reason I sought treatment again (diagnosed 6 years ago, but unable to tolerate CPAP then). I have been on CPAP again for 2 weeks and feeling a bit better. I know the energy level will increase. One HUGE factor in my opinion is the mental state / depression that accompanies years of sleep deprivation. This, in and of itself, even though derived from apnea, has a huge impact on your relationships in one way or another.
The addition of CPAP in our lives often comes with a whole series of NEW night time routines. After doing all of the 'stuff' and gearing up, it certainly makes spontaneity in the night time a little less feasible and fun. I agree with he concept of communicating. We, as guys, generally are less likely to talk about this, but it is worth it. It just entails a little more planning, not unlike the use of some ED meds.
If your bed partner hasn't been scared off by the mask, you are on the right track.....

I was almost a "closet CPAP User" for the first 18months. I had a real macho problem with having to use this thing in front of my wife. I tried my best to not let her see me all hooked up with the lights on. Now I finally realize that she doesn't give it much thought. Now I have to be careful not to talk about CPAP too much - like how I used to feel dead all the time and now I feel so good. Only OSA folks like us know what a dramatic difference it is. So - if I ignore it, she ignores it. Everything else takes care of itself.

Is that one of those carriers that make short trips, or are they in it for the long haul? JimGoofyUT wrote:I thought that Air Viagra was one of those new, low-cost regional carriers in upstate New York!
