Guys,
I've been on CPAP for just under 2 weeks. I feel great.
There have been a few unexpected side effects. My wife is very happy that I no longer snore, but she's even more happier that certain "other" functions have improved as well. It's my understanding that OSA has been linked to impotence, but is it just me or is there also a link to... premature...? Let's just sum it up by saying that I went from being a sprinter, to a marathon runner. Have any other of the men in here experienced something along those lines or am I just imagining things now? Are there any other "pleasant" side effects that I should be aware of? Either way, I'll never again forget to wear my mask to sleep, my wife makes sure of that.

I'll comment, why not? I would think that sexuality is a bodily function, just like digestion, metabolism, brain activity etc. It does not surprise me at all that everything, including your "bathroom parts" would begin to work better as your overall health improves as a result of getting proper sleep. I know I've gradually felt my health improve over time as my cpap tratment continues. As your phsical self improves, your mental self will also improve. Sex is at least 50% mental (in my humble opinion) maybe more, so it seems right that one aspect helps the other and visa versa.

And where have you found female Tyrannosauri to mate with? Or do you cruise Tyrannosauri bars in Tyranonnsauri town? I prefer to consider myself a stallion but then all the mares snicker, not nicker. It's embarrassing.
Kidding aside, xPAPing improves all aspects of the plumbing as far as I can tell. It also seems to improve libido and capability. Being fat, middle-aged and single it don't help me too much though.

Male, female and young - it must have worked.

Interesting how individuals talk about their prowess, find out the truth from the spouse or partner and it's often a different story
As to the impact of CPAP for my OSA and function, yes it did have an impact. The problem is that I can't say scientifically how much was the CPAP therapy and the rest me and my spouses weight loss.
At first, I became quite "randy" after starting therapy, but there were some issues of self-confidence and self-esteam on both parts. After we've both lost weight, her libido had increased significantly as well as my own. It's like we had jumped into a time machine considering we've been married for close to two decades "only better" as we don't have the embarassment of trying to figure out what we both like and how to touch and be touched.
But there is a big link (no pun intended ) between OSA and sexual disfunction, after all it also affects your circulatory health and that's also related to function and performance. Hopefully your cardiac health has also been improving and that has a big link to duration of the "process".
Have fun and feel great at knowing that this form of exercise is also good for your health.

So if I got this straight, first you couldn't sleep because of OSAshe's even more happier that certain "other" functions have improved as well.
now it's your wife thats cutting into your sleep time!

Post Erectile dysfunction in sleep apnea and response to CPA
This is a item from the Sleep Apnea Support Forum which I replied to (when I was a member):
Erectile dysfunction in sleep apnea and response to CPAP

This study assessed characteristics of sexual dysfunction in sleep apnea and the efficacy of treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). Twenty-two men with sleep apnea syndrome and also sexual dysfunction served as subjects in this study. Tests included physical, psychological, neurological, and penile vascular examinations, along with polysomnography, nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT), and penile rigidity. All patients clinically had a history of snoring and difficulty getting and maintaining erections. Results indicate that erectile dysfunction in patients with sleep apnea could be related to patient's age and chronic cerebral hypoxia due to apnea. Treatment with CPAP relieved erectile dysfunction in one-third of these patients.

This is very interesting!
I noticed a decided improvement in my "love life" after several months on my CPAP. Although I attributed it to just being more well rested, it appears that there was more going on here than I realized.
Not to be too indelicate here, but the return of my morning "pee erections," and much firmer and longer lasting erections during intercourse have been a source of great joy for me.
Hooray for CPAP!

This is kind of in the same vein as this topic but not really... I've been on CPAP for a week and have noticed that I'm dreaming a lot more and remembering them. While this is nifty, I've seriously had like 4-5 sex dreams in the past week, when I was averaging fewer then that per year prior to beginning treatment. Has anyone else seen this? I'm also taking Ambien at the moment, I'm not sure if that can contribute to this.

I was warned that after being on CPAP I would have sensual/sexual dreams and that they would be vivid. It did happen and was quite a pleasant surprise. Apparently this is part of the process of getting back on track physically and quite normal.
It is also true that most dreams are centred around sex and violence - perhaps part of our primal past?

Or perhaps what we see on TV right before bedtime. I suppose I'd rather dream about sex than, say baseball, but it would be cool if you could come up with a way to combine the two. BATTERRRRRRRRRRRR UP. Those would be truely "field of dreams" material. It is also true that most dreams are centred around sex and violence - perhaps part of our primal past?
