I had good insurance, went with the doctor and his DME. I ended up with a brick for a machine. I didn't know any different until cpaptalk.com educated my simple brain. I am now in full control of my therapy and soon found no need for a doctor and his co pays and max for profit DME (the right way )Too tall wrote: So to my simple brain, there is no reason not to, as I said, do it the right way.

I will try to remember that should you ever request assistance again here on the forum or have a question about something. Will be so much easier on the fingers to just type "check with your doctor".Too tall wrote:Cpaptalk for medical advise would not be my first choice.

you're more than welcome to do what you want, and think what you want, and even express your OPINIONS as such, all you want.Too tall wrote:So to my simple brain, there is no reason not to, as I said, do it the right way. In fact, it's probably the least expensive way to go. But to recommend Craig's list as a DME and Cpaptalk for medical advise would not be my first choice.
however, when you make absolute statements appearing to represent facts, "that is ILLEGAL" "it's UNSANITARY" and mention things like tuberculosis.... well, then it's incumbent on people to correct those statements, and point out that they are simply your opinion, and not an accurate fact.

I agree, the DME's and Doctors are a pain. I went through the same mess but what's our alternative, you have to have a prescription to buy new equipment. Correct me if i'm wrong. I also agree that learning all you can about your medical issues regardless of what they are is key.

Re: Bad Breath CPAP
Geez, what did I say to get you so mad? Do you really think I push medical equipment, No, I don't work for a doctor or DME. It's worst than that, I'm oilfield trash. After 2 years in the Marine Corp (68-70), I spent 32 years with Exxon, retired and then another 10 years with Chevron and retired for a second time. (I'm 67). Does that help or you hate me even more now.chunkyfrog wrote:And it's perfectly all right to let people be abused by greedy DME's and lazy, or clueless medical practitioners?
That is not why we are here.
So who pays you for this worthless advice?

well, you asked what the alternative was to buy a new machine.... and there are new machines, from a trusted source, zero hour. without a rx. and, if you do want to be picky about it, that's not a classified adToo tall wrote:I'm wasn't talking about classified ads.palerider wrote:aaaaaand, here you go: viewtopic/t106397/For-Sale-New-AirCurve ... t-600.htmlToo tall wrote:what's our alternative, you have to have a prescription to buy new equipment. Re: Bad Breath CPAP
Ok, now I see why you jumped on me, you took that personally, didn't you. Life's too short to be hating like that. Nothing we say on any of these forums should be personal. Me and Palerider had that misunderstanding but we're chump buddies now.
