Scan of my results (what is RERA and UAR?)
Re: Scan of my results (what is RERA and UAR?)
Did you have the Sleep lab copy the papers to your disk or did Medical Records do it?
Canada...I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all.

Medical Records. I'm unable to get in touch with the lab. Their phone is never answered (even when called at night) and they don't have an answering machine. The tech that called me said they weren't supposed to interact with patients at all besides for the studies and it was 'all up to the doctors' after that. The only reason they called me at all was because I left a sticky note stuck and TAPED to the lab doors yesterday.
It's a crap situation in a crappy lab and is handled horribly

I understand, if this is a smaller hospital I would suggest trying to contact the director of either the Pulmonary, Respiratory, or Cardiology department to get answers about the Sleep Lab.
Regarding the information on your CD this is likely a breakdown in the Medical Records department. Your papers and report were probably sent to the Medical Records department to be scanned into the database (if they use Electronic Medical Records) or to be placed in your Patient file if they still use paper. Either way this was probably done with other patients papers/reports in tow and it is then up to the personell in the Medical Records department to make sure they are placed into the correct Patient file. I would contact the Medical Records department to make sure that this gets resolved and your report is found and placed correctly into your file.

Thank you. This is a tiny hospital. I did leave a message with the Pulmonary Department. Not sure when or if I'll hear back from them.akcpapguy wrote:I understand, if this is a smaller hospital I would suggest trying to contact the director of either the Pulmonary, Respiratory, or Cardiology department to get answers about the Sleep Lab.

I've written down everything to bring up with my doctor at the private lab and try to figure out what's going on

paerhaps if you left an signed blank check with that post-it
This is crazy, that you have no access to your own medical records.

You are doing the right thing by focusing on the second opinion ... working the problem. Screw the old lab, there's nothing but negativity there.
