Pugsy's Pointers Collection

Post by Pugsy » Fri May 03, 2013 7:31 pm

Well not much of a collection yet but it will grow as I have time and the composition bug bites me again

So far 2 Pugsy's Pointers threads... As I complete other threads or see something that I think contains useful information...I am going to stick those thread links in here also. It won't be all my stuff...it will be stuff from others who have taken the time to compose some good helpful information or organize threads so you don't have to go sorting through the archives.

Hi,
I appreciate that there are some gurus here especially with computer /software questions.

I was using my Infineer and Encore 2.0 software until I changed to Win7 64 bit (prof).
I did install a Win XP virtual machine. Installed the software under that and even tried to install the USB into the virtual machine. NO Good.
I am back where I started, tech support has nothing to offer save that I need to buy an upgraded software.
Is that true?

I got rabbit-trailed with Sleepyhead- I don't even know what that is for.

I was happy with my Encore viewer and would like to be happy again, if it would just download my data.
The viewer shows a red light for 1/2 second then turns green for 6 seconds, then back to red. I have concluded that this is not what I want. The down load data never 'lights up'.
Any help is appreciated.

SleepyHead is for the new PR S1 machines that use a SD card. If you are using the Infineer DT3500 you are using an older machine with a smart card and SleepyHead won't work with it.

I do have a possible solution for you though. Check your private messages as I sent you a link for something that should work with your 64 bit computer and your machine.

EncoreViewer 2.0 is for 32 bit computers...it can be made to work on a 64 bit computer if we bypass the installer but that's extra work. Let's just get you something that installs easily on the 64 bit computer to start with.

PM me if you can't get that to work. I have some info on making the USB work in this situation, but it is NOT easy (and not for the less intrepid folk).

What model machine do you have? Your profile points to model 250 PR System One Plus CPAP....it doesn't gather any information to make using software useful....all it gathers is hours of use.
If you don't have model 450 or higher...no sense in getting Encore.
You might want to read this.

And what machine do you have? You didn't put anything in your profile.

Hi,
I am new to this forum and also to C-PAP usage.
I have a Philips Respironics system one 60 with humidifier.
I was looking for a software able to read my chip card and tell me how the AHI was going after the first two weeks of usage and I hit this forum and read lots of post.
I have dwld and installed SleepyHead and Encore basic 2.2.2
I did install on my laptop running w7 64 bit.
SleepyHead was able to recognize my machine as follows "Philips Respironics System One (261P) P10056541DF6C" but it did not import any data.
Encore Basic, instead, imported the data but it does not show the wave pages (in the detail section only three pages are shown) neither any info on my AHI.
I am stuck.
I really need to see my AHI but I am not ready to pay 99 usd for that.
Could someone suggest me a solution?
Thanks from Italy
enzo

Your machine is a base model machine and it doesn't gather/record any data beyonds hours of use and that's how come your software is reporting anything.

We need model number 450 or higher to have any useful data beyond hours of use which is all the model 261 gathers.
So your problem isn't the software....it's your machine.
Buying EncoreViewer for $99...would be a total waste of money. The software can't report something if the machine doesn't record it. So sorry.

Your machine is a 60 series machine so you would need a 460 model at least to work with your humidifier and give you the data we all talk about here.
Model 460 PR System One 60 series Pro CPAP
Model 560 PR System One 60 series Auto CPAP

Does anyone know how to get the Rescan software? I'm new with all of this and would like to see how I'm doing.

Thanks for the reply!
I did get a link, for some reason it's not working. Do you know if the page was taken down?
