SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
I got a repeat of the uncalculated derived values after updating to the "Session Times chart time display fix" commit (there's no way I'm entering the commit id by hand). This time, I even had some uncalculated days on a fresh import.

Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
So is there anything that will allow for pulling the data from the S8 card and use on a Mac? I'm new too and wondering what info is in there and wishing I could periodically look at it.Pugsy wrote:Unfortunately SleepyHead will not work with the S8 machines (that pesky card reader thing again). SleepyHead will only work with SD cards at this time. Pulling data of the smart cards is not nearly as easy as the SD cards.
Thanks

Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
I'd love to make those work with SleepyHead, but unfortunately I can't really do this without access to both a machine & card reader..KarenM wrote:So is there anything that will allow for pulling the data from the S8 card and use on a Mac? The same goes for Respironics M-Series machines. I don't mind investing the time into figuring either of them out, but I simply haven't got the resources to obtain the hardware.
If anyone has upgraded their machine, and has an one of those older models lying around spare and is willing to consider either donating or loaning it for software research purposes, I'd like to hear from you. There's quite a few people who are stuck with these models, and are very eager to get better software. I would very much like to help them out. :-/

The machine you show in your profile is a Resmed S9 VPAP S Bilevel. (I.e. a plain old bi-level, not an auto bilevel). SH on the mac should have no problems reading that machine's data.
Just to be clear: The S9 VPAP S Bilevel looks like this:

And the S8 VPAP looks like this:

So do you have the correct machine in your signature? In other words, do you have the S9 VPAP or the S8 VPAP?

Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
I just updated the current build on sourceforge, to version 0.8.8-3
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/files/
Grab the 0.8.8-3 binary_only if you just want to upgrade from one of the previous 0.8.8 attempts.
The 0.8.8-3 full version has the DLL's needed to start fresh with the 0.8.8 series..
ResMed users.. This build is going to have to purge and reimport the S9 data.. It will offer to purge automatically, and this won't affect your journal notes/weight/etc...
Sorry Mac users, no 0.8.8 build yet.. I still haven't got these print issues sorted. Jimbo's been working hard testing it like crazy.. But I've just been too darn foggy to nail this issue properly.
- It fixes the whacky graph double ups on ResMed,
- Takes a stab at fixing the blacked out fonts issue (which is just a guess, my hardware couldn't replicate it.)
- And adds support for "High Res" printing (and option in preferences to turn it on). Takes a bit longer to print a page, but the results looks prettier.

However, this morning when I started the program and imported the new data, on the charts all the text/numbers was replaced by black boxes. Exiting and restarting "fixed" the problem (for now). Video Adapter Type is a GeForce 310M, NVIDIA compatible, running in a Sony Vaio laptop (Win 7 Pro).
Gah.. It's a Qt bug in sharing OpenGL contexts..
It only affects certain hardware combinations. I did not expect to see it on NVidia graphics chip..
I'll have another look over the code to make sure I didn't do something silly with the new print code (which uses a hidden offscreen context to take graph snapshots)
just a trivial question (and a wish), does Sleepyhead take in Oximeter data?
Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
Yes. Still being fine tuned but it is compatible with Contec CMS 50s (there are several models)peterg wrote:just a trivial question (and a wish), does Sleepyhead take in Oximeter data?
The Contec 50 seems to be the most common oximeter used by members here.

that was quick, I just found the answer in this thread as well
viewtopic/t68099/CMS-50E-oximeter-used- ... puter.html.
no doubt the time on the oximeter needs to syns with the xPap machine.
here's a wish, any hacks to get info out of the Intellipap without the module, say a usb or serial connection to the Intellipaps portal.
(tell me I'm cheap ) .
Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
Just loaded the new version 8.8.3 and no more video problems as in black boxes or garbled text.
Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
SleepyHead also works with the ResMed's expensive oximeter attachment, but no-ones reported trying it yet..
Has anyone tried a CMS50E/F yet? My usual tester of all things Oximetry (John) is away this week and I haven't had any feedback on it..
If you start your Oximeter and CPAP machine at exactly the same time, you can get good sync without worrying about CPAP clock drift or being attached to USB cables.
As for Intellipap, Nope.. sorry, you need whatever gives you the SD card for it to work at the moment with SleepyHead.
Is there a 9pin din serial port connector on your box? or is that on the SmartLink module too?
Getting at the flow waveform opens up a lot of possibilities for these machines.. I can calculate almost all other things from it if it's resolution is high enough.
I'm not sure of DeVilbiss's reasoning for having a separate data acquisition module.

Cool..darimont wrote:Just loaded the new version 8.8.3 and no more video problems as in black boxes or garbled text.
It's a Qt font bug that's causing it, and it's been really tricky to work around.
Hopefully this one stays squashed..

But, some of the pressure charts and calculations (AutoSet S9) are a real mess now: Maximum pressure reported be lower than 0 EPR at minus 1
Problem persists even after I manually deleted the sleepapp data folder.

Re: SleepyHead 0.8.8 "Almost Beta" Release
For information: after I updated to 0.8.8-3, I closed the program overnight. Inserted the card to the reader this morning - Aarggh! "New data not found"! The program was supposed to be looking in the "usual location." I took the card back to my machine, waited a suitable time, then tried again to load it into SH. Again, no data. OK, something odd going on here. When the dialog came up asking for the location, I clicked on New Location, and reselected the drive to use. Data now found! Program asked if I wanted to save the new location as the usual.
Mark, it might be helpful if "data not found" triggered the dialog box that allows the user to select the location? Not a big deal, but a nice little feature?
BTW, I know what it means to be a programmer - I am a medical editor, but my boss has a couple of spreadsheets where he is trying to do lots of things manually. I suspect that he is not doing them accurately. So, in my "spare" time, I am supposed to be coming up with code that will replace all of his manual activities with code that does it accurately! Actually, it is fun when you get the code to work to the extent that you can see something happening ... Keep up the excellent work on SH - I can definitely see something happening, and you have made huge leaps forward this year. You will definitely have something to record in the "Accomplished" column for 2011, even if there are still another 1000 things to have in the "To do" column for 2012!
