Looks like he stopped making new log ins for now. But who knows when he will start again. The posts continue and last I checked were at 13 pages and growing.

I think the goal is not to make sense but to annoy and disrupt. Or disrupt and annoy.
I wonder if that brief pause was a lunch break?

Ya - if someone with the power to do so would scroll down the member list. Delete all the new members who've posted 80+ posts in the last 20 min. Then temporarily shut down new member account creations we could stop this for now.

It would be nice to have more members given the ability to do things like delete the accounts of spammers. There not that many accounts doing the dirty work at the moment. Though that wouldn't fix the problem being able to go in and delete the 30 or so accounts that have each posted more then 190 posts would at least clear the board again. Also having more people able to clear accounts would give us a fighting chance when spammers attacked if the site owners or tech support are not around.

Hope we're able to get the site back soon.

Take care all!

Forum is sort of dead for now until there IT people can fix and do something about this. I was up early about 5AM and it was 235 pages at that time, hard to say what it is now.

I like RogerSC's approach. Limit the number of posts per a set time limit, then delete/ban violating accounts. Easy for me, I know, I don't have to actually do it. Also, can't someone just take the site off-line for a while until this is cleaned up? At least that may discourage them in the short term. No one legitimate can really get a post through anyway, am surprised I saw this thread.

They really need to just shut down new registrations with a sticky noted/announcement as to why until this is figured out. I moderate elsewhere, and we use a single button to zap the user, all their posts, and ban the IP address from posting further. I know the owners don't want moderation, that's fine, but I'll be surprised if they don't offer a few tools to some of the more trusted, long standing members.
