i tried melatonin

At your age it is likely that your body already produces sufficient melatonin. Melatonin supplements should only be used if the body does not produce enough (usually elderly people) or it may be helpful used temporarily for shift work changes and jet lag.
i hear b-12 shots can help with sleep

B12 can keep you awake. If you think you have vitamin and mineral deficiencies, ask a doctor to test you.

Depends on your insurance policy.

Why do you think you have deficiencies? These are present mostly among older people.

I take intramuscular shots of B12 once per week for Chronic fatigue. Can't say how it would affect someone without chronic fatigue but for me it doesn't change my sleep. I get 7-8 hours a night and still take between 1 and 3 naps every day.

I don't take any sleep aids or other supplements.
