Tried the reset thing, but it keeps jumping back to all!

Been thinking: Go to each Poll, take a Poll Lock and beat them with it until they run away. Jim

You can permanently (temporarily) change the settings in User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Edit Display Options.

Setting it to One Day cleans it right up.

What it really needs is a button to hide threads with a start date older than 6 months or one year. Or better, to have the moderator's put a lock on all posts older than the selected date. The problem with stopping displaying posts older than 6 months is that as soon as someone posts to that poll, it's last date is today.

[Added] Also, in Tapatalk, which I use quite a lot, it is not possible to tell the start date of a thread, so anything that is unread is "current" for me.

OK, better distructions:

First, don't "Reply" to them. While voting in a poll and replying to the thread will both bring a thread to the top, the thread behaves differently.

Second, change the settings in User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Edit Display Options > Display Topics from Previous Days > (select) One Day (or 7 will probably work, depending on when the last response was).

Alternatively, the Display can be changed for each session (sign-on) by making these changes at the bottom of the first page.

Amen to that.

Plus, the old posts can be helpful and interesting.

For me anyway the topic is still listed on the first page although when I click on it no posts come up. So it looks like this does not work to declutter the first page.

X 10

I've noticed that the majority of the "complainers" seem to be fairly recent members of the forum. (a few years or less)

Just goes to show that there are no "new" subjects/topics on the forum. Everything has been discussed over and over for years.

I've also noticed that quite a few of them HAVE gotten posting responses and not just votes.

What difference does it make if it's a 6 or 8-year old poll or a 3-year old thread asking where a person can download software?

I can't find the "poll lock" button.
