It felt fine, but there was not air coming through it. when I got it and connected it to my machine, there were leaks. I called several times and she didn't return my calls. I finally got her on the phone and she said she was putting in an order for a size smaller. A couple of weeks later Apria called me and said the insurance wouldn't pay for it until October 25th. We had to wait until then to send the order in. We did that just the other day.
Today, I said the heck with insurance and ordered a new machine that has a feature which tells if the mask is properly fitted. After 3 minutes it gives you a green smiley face if it's a good fit and a red face if it needs adjustments. Hopefully, the smaller mask will work. I'm not happy with my doctor but I don't think there's any better doctors in the area. Besides I go on medicare soon and will be lucky to have a sleep apnea doctor that will take me. I checked and he does take medicare.
You wouldn't buy $300 shoes without walking in them, why buy a mask without laying down and turning on the machine?
Note that if you return a mask within 30 days the manufacturer pays the costs of it, not your insurance.

Have you experimented with the forehead setting. We set it one up from the bottom and that seems to stop leaks into the eyes and is most comfortable. The trick is to turn on the machine with the mask very loose so the cushion can fill with air, then make strap adjustments just until the leaks stop. He also washes his face and shaves before bed. After trying lots of bed pillows we find that a fairly soft down pillow is best for side sleeping because there's little resistance and doesn't knock the mask off center. Everyone is different of course. Good luck.
Wow, people just read between the lines on this one......Dori it is no wonder the people on this forum adore you, myself included. You have the kind of relationship that dreams are made of. Sometimes when I read your posts I am really jealous and I want to be Mike! Love like the two of you share is so rare.....You both are truly blessed!
Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Janice, what makes it so easy to care for him is that he's so loving and agreeable and appreciates everything I do for him, not taking anything for granted. He's lost quite a bit of his mental capacity but the qualities I fell in love with are still there but subdued. I see so many others in his situation who have gotten demanding and ungrateful so I'm lucky.
