Also keep in mind that the "submit" button is very handy. In the old days we would have to go find a pen (or a quill if we are old enough!) and paper. Once we had written the missive and put it in an envelope, we had to find/buy a stamp, then put the letter in the mailbox. All of that gave us plenty of time to ponder whether we really meant what we were saying. These days, all it takes are a few keystrokes, including submit. It now takes a very conscious effort to re-read and reassess our message before it becomes a mess. Do you have posts you wish you could recall? I do. Have you ever drafted something then decided not to submit. I have - many times.

Another point - does sleep apnea affect the critical reasoning part of our brains that make it more difficult to hesitate before clicking submit? If so, maybe we all have to be more tolerant of each other? Not to say that all posts should be regarded as uncorrectable. Absolutely not. Just be understanding of the other person's situation. Heck, if everyone could do that, maybe governments would make more sense???

Hey...it's a right of passage to piss someone off enough to make it to their Foe list.
I sometimes do the Foe list thing just to keep me from adding fuel to the pissing contest and making more of an ass out of myself. When I stomp my foot in a snit fit and walk off..I usually end up looking like a jackass and I sure hate that.
But I have done it and most likely will still do it on occasion. I am human after all and far from "perfect".
It's hard to totally ignore someone who really irritates me though...Sometimes I just HAVE to see what/who the forum is telling me I have chosen not to see. At least the extra work needed to click to see reminds me to just look and not type.
The ones that really annoy me are the non registered bullies/trolls/assholes/idiots comments that I can't filter out until it's too late and I actually have seen the garbage that gets posted. What a total waste of my time reading that crap.

Old due...when we use the Foe list you don't see a person's response but you do see a message that "so and so" has posted but you have chosen not to view his/her comments...click here to see what they said. That's the part that suckers me in...what I mean when I say that I just HAVE to see what they said...so I click and then usually get reminded as to why I chose to not see what that person wants to say. So my Foe list is short because I normally have to go look anyway.

Correct - you lose their wisdom as well as the stuff that irritates you.

Well, at the most, I would say 27.

Omg Dori .. That really put a smile on my face and I got a big laugh at
same time. I'm just really struggling with this whole thing. This machine
just isn't working for me. I feel much worse since using it. I'm searching for answers on this site. Because I
can't seem to get it from Doctors. And at the
same time I'm almost afraid to post them. As I'm using a iPhone as my source.
Little screen and poor eye sight. But Thank-you

Please don't be afraid to post your questions, you'll be amazed at all the help you receive. You just got off on the wrong foot because of your newbie "lecture". So let's start all over and ask as many questions as you want, even if you're not sure of what questions you're asking, we'll figure it out for you. After awhile you'll know who's who around here and who the experts are.(Mollete is one of them). I'm surely not one of them, just a caregiver for my husband's therapy but I try to give back whenever I can. Good luck and keep us posted.

Appearances are not always an accurate reflection of what's really going on. It's not that this forum has a lot of trolls - it has a lot of identities for the very few. Every new person who says something that would seemingly "stir the pot" is suspect until shown otherwise. Reminds me of the old saying "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water." Unfortunately there will be some newbies who stepped unknowingly into a pile of hooey.

Dori,

You may be 'Just' a care giver for your husband Mike, but I am sure I am not the only one here who has benefited a lot from you sharing your wisdom, experiences, and your eagerness to be helpful to anyone you can. Plus, you are easily one of the nicest persons I have never actually met. Though I am very grateful for the experts we have here and all the time and support they give, you are much better than an 'expert' in my opinion because you are a one of a kind... our beloved Dori!

John

Hint: None of mine have posted yet on this thread; and the list is very short.
Plus, most are long gone.

John, thank you for making my day! I'll try to remember your kind words when I'm raving and ranting around here because Mike can't find his glasses, spilled his coffee or wakes me up with mask leaks!! Not a pretty picture!

You're right - it's just kind of a neurotic indulgence. It's like when we were kids and pretended to plug both our ears with our fingers and screamed "I'm not going to listen to you!" but we'd kinda keep one ear a teeny bit open, in case we might miss something.

Regards, Nate
