Get the shot. Get the flu.
Don't get shot. Get the flu.
Only difference is I can plan for it with the shot.

But I did get the shingles shot. B-I-L has had shingles going on 6wks.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

Got mine two weeks or so ago. Inside the Little Clinix in Frys marketplace. My insurance paid for the bill. Nice and convenient too - just proceeded on to get my groceries.

Got mine at the Dr's office last week. I figure I have insurance right now that covers it so I jumped right in!
My reaction was that I got a little bit sleepy, or maybe I was just tired.

Got mine today. Missed it last year because I was sick each time I had a chance to get the shot at Dr 's office. Came down with flu on Christmas eve. Missed a week of work and had a really crummy holiday season. Not THIS year!!

Haven't gotten mine yet because I have had a cold. But I had Hong Kong flu years ago and wished I could just die and get it over with. I have gotten the shot every year since!

I got mine Wednesday at my doctor's office. It's the first time I've had the flu vaccine in seven or eight years. My arm did not get sore but I had nausea that night and sneezing/runny nose for half the following day. I started a new medicine the same night, so the nausea could have been from it. After that, no other problems. I will be getting one yearly from now on.

The Flumist nasal spray is a LIVE virus, supposedly attenuated. (weakened.) It can give you the flu, but it should be milder than "real" flu. It's not approved for over 50 years old. You should not take it if you have a weakened immune system. You could spread the bug to others if they have weakened immune systems. Use with care if you have a family member who has a weak immune system.

I got a mild case of the flu the one time I took the spray vaccine. I've never had a reaction to injectable vaccine. I did get sick one year right after getting the shot, but I think that was just when I got the flu.

When I got my shot a few days ago, I got the impression from the warning info that some of the injectable flu vaccines this year are live virus, but don't have any other info on that.

BTW, pneumonia vaccines are cheap and last many years. They don't protect against every form of pneumonia, but they're probably worthwhile.

BTW2, I used to think I got the flu most years despite the vaccine, but I looked up the flu symptoms and decided that I actually was having colds, not the flu.
