Deerhound, When a person resorts to name calling and labeling here, the credibility of the message drops to zero. That plus a lot of generalizations and no facts and shows that the main thrust of a message is emotional and not reasoned. Maybe can be fine, but that depends on whether your objective in writing is feeling good through attacking an "enemy" and expressing frustration herer, or if your are interested in making a point other intelligent people here will absorb and understand. Based on your statements so far, yours appears to be the satisfaction of the attack and emotional expression. Note, I am not making this an adhominem affront but am addressing your behavior. You can always change that, I believe. Though, I have read that neuroscience research using brain imaging has shown the brains of conservatives and liberals are different. The conservative brain relies more on the amygdala, the emotional, and the liberal brain has a larger frontal cortex where rational thinking takes place. To each his own. I'm just offering feedback if you want to evaluate the effectiveness of your message.

Here it is again, blame republicans for not giving the democrats everything they want. Saying the Republicans won't compromise! Really! Compromise is when both sides have to give a little to get a little. But both Reed and Obama state they will not compromise on anything dealing with the ACA law.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has insisted the Senate would not pass a bill that alters the law. The White House has said Obama would veto such a bill. AP news (link below)

Looks like to me it's the dems that are about to shut down the government! Kinda reminds me of a kid that wants everything his way or he'll take his ball and go home! You lefty's love to say that Republicans never bring anything to the table. They have already brought a plan to the table that was voted down in the senate, now it appears they are bringing a second bill to the table with compromises in the bill. What has the Dems brought to the table. "Do it our way or else", we'll blame you for the shutdown!

Buttermilk boy, Here is my thought on those who do not want to be in the risk pool. I do not care who is collecting the money, though in the case of Obamacare - which is based on the Romney/Republican/conservative model - the for profit insurance companies got the nod. So, they can continue to pull their 20% off the top of the monthly premium before letting us have the other 80% for our healthcare needs. This is in contrast to Medicare and Medicaid where the public is holding the money in the pool, does not need a profit off the top, and provides much cheaper care for the premium dollar. Anyway, my thought for those who want "independence and peace" is that they need to prepare for presenting themselves to an emergency room if they get sick or a truck runs over them. I wish the hospitals could turn away everyone who has said they do not want to contribute. Legally they cannot do that, of course, but I find it hard to be charitable when Obamacare gives everyone the right to be covered and some decide they will just opt out. To me, that means you are opting out of any medical care care you cannot pay out of your own pocket when the time comes. Maybe we should let hospitals opt out of treating those who opt out of coverage; then, it would be more clear that "independence" means being prepared to sell your house if you get sick and didn't want insurance for yourself or your family.

But then the kids who wanted green insist that the color has to be green. They go to the principal's office and make their case that blue sucks and green rules. The principal tells them that the class chose blue, so the walls are going to be blue. Then the pro-green kids return and say that since there was a new kid who joined the class since the vote, we have to have the vote again. Another vote is held; it's still blue. Then the pro-green kids announce that because anyone can see that blue is sucky, they're going to write in green magic marker on any wall that gets painted blue. Then they announce that if the walls get painted blue, they're going to break the windows in the classroom, smash the chairs, and fling the contents of everybody's cubby on the floor.

You might think that losing elections means you don't get to demand your entire agenda be enacted. Republicans disagree.

Should have read: You might think that winning the White House means you get to demand your entire agenda be enacted. Which is exactly what Obama the Democrats are trying to do!

Our government works a little different than Canadian government, we have the President, The House and The Senate. Obama won the election for President, but the Americans also gave control of the House to the Republicans. Our government uses each branch as a check and balance to keep any one party from going radical. So, yes Dems may have won the White House, but, they still have to get approval from the Senate and the House members, and the House is controlled by the Republicans. That's why the Dems can't DEMAND AND GET everything THEY want! That is why they have to compromise, if you want certain things done your way, you have to be willing to give up some things also. I'm sure you remember George Bush, you know, the man Dems love to blame for everything! Remember Bush trying to get the reform of Social Security passed, didn't happen! Blocked by the Democrats. A president never gets everything he wants. Hope it was simple enough for you to follow along and understand! Kinda like someone breaks in your house and has a knife and threatens to do harm to your family, so you shoot him and he manages to get outside your house, then the police arrest you for trying to protect yourself and your family!

I really hate belittling people, but it seems certain members on this forum seems to love doing it to other people, because you can't discuss anything without your little snide remakes and a little knife jab in the back for kicks. I will start calling you on it if this is what you think is so cute! Who wants to be the next called out?

Yes the whole world is watching the USA destroy their government/country over whether or not to help your own poorest people have fundamental health care.

And because we refuse to give basic care to ALL our citizens;

Not a chance. Next time there's a budget to agree on they'll do it all over again. Maybe then they'll demand that Medicare and Social Security get privatized, or else!.
