Numerous studies have shown that professors are incapable of cursing online. I once saw an educated person try to type a curse word into a forum, and he immediately burst into flames and disintegrated. So it must be true. That's why cursing is banned on the other forum. For our own safety. I'm just glad avi is so good at saving us all from ourselves. Hail avi!

Man, oh man, I come home from work and I see more CRAP from Avi on this harmless thread. Avi, if you think you are qualified to determine who is educated and who is not, maybe your "genius" should post on the other board instead of trying to be a thorn in everyone's side here.

I ran across this from the Wikipedia entry on Good Samaritan laws, and saw this:

"Good Samaritan laws are laws or acts offering legal protection to people who give reasonable assistance to those who are injured, ill, in peril, or otherwise incapacitated. In some cases, Good Samaritan laws encourage people to offer assistance (duty to rescue).[1] The protection is intended to reduce bystanders' hesitation to assist, for fear of being sued or prosecuted for unintentional injury or wrongful death.

An example of the obligation to help a person is the Argentina law on "abandonment of persons", Articles 106-108 of the Argentine Penal Code, which include the provision in Article 106 "a person who endangers the life or health of another, either by putting a person in jeopardy or abandoning to their fate a person unable to cope alone who must be cared for ... will be imprisoned for between 2 and 6 years".[2]"

Apparently, at least in Argentina, the actions of the other forum could mean prison time!
I, for one, would not ever want to "fit" their website!

I know a lawyer, a judge and university professor in my circle of friends that drop the 4 letter "f" bombs and other crusty words frequently If they aren't super educated I don't know who is. Education does not make you "upper crust" or "better" than anyone else.

From posting at the ASAA it seems to me that posters there have higher education levels. RobySue, for example, during the past years (before 2013), has more posts there.

That's just garbage. You're talking about the SAME PEOPLE. Some use their same usernames and some use other identities.
From my observations, there are MANY people who post on BOTH forums......and that includes people looking for help for the first time......they'll post on both forums and then pick and choose which advice they prefer. I think many started here and then after they got some knowledge, started helping out the new users on that one.

With regard to "robysue", she's got more than four times as many posts on this forum as the other one. She first posted on both at about the same time (about a month apart).

I had a roommate once who was a college professor. She was book smart, but dumber than a box of rocks when it came to common sense.

I purchased a cat scratching post and the store had a note on it that said "please do not sit on the post." I hadn't removed it when she saw it. She looked at me and asked "Is that to entice the cat to do something it's not supposed to do?" I thought she was kidding, but saw she was DEAD SERIOUS. I answered her slowly and carefully -- "No, that's for the people. To the best of my knowledge, cats do not read."

She stopped, looked thoughtfully for a minute, then said "Hmm..Well, I guess that makes sense." And she walked off.

Half scared me that she could be that stupid and I shared an apartment with her!

I'm not "highly educated" and didn't use one curse word.

Wow. I've never had anyone threaten to steal my identity before. Should I be flattered or should I be scared, um, witless? I would think there would be much better identities than mine to steal. I'm not even sure I want my identity, come to think of it.

I hate reading bad language in this forum. I took a long break from this site for a while because of posts with bad language. Seems to me to have calmed down lately, though.

But does anyone with any decent education actually read those disinformation-filled financial forums? Especially those? I mean, you could get more useful information from 30 seconds of Jim Cramer's speed talking than 20 pages of that drivel, right?

I would assume nobody curses in financial forums right now. But just wait for the next market "correction" then plug your electronic ears!
