Before I lose my nerve.

I found this pen & ink drawing and a small watercolor painting of a bell pepper at the bottom of my art supplies box. I recently got the box out of storage and decided to try art again as a way to deal with the loss of someone I love. I haven't drawn or painted in over ten years. I did this drawing in June 2000 and it's signed "Mom" -- my daughter had given me some gerbera daisies so I decided to draw them and turn them into a birthday card for her.

Thanks Lena for starting this thread. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's creative endeavors.

I am a needlework designer. I was taught, by my mother, when i was young to stitch. It only took 25 years to turn it into a profession. :/ http://www.shipsmanor.com

I used to dabble a bit in oils. I will try to get some images of a couple of my paintings in a bit.
But right now I am dabbling in flowers grown in my yard. I have gardens on 3 sides of the house and some yard art flower gardens in the yard. Typical old lady who lives in the country flower gardens.

I have 2 different Hibiscus flowers. These were a new endeavor. I am hoping to save them this winter by bringing them inside.

Avi,
NICE woodworking, and I am more than a little jealous of your shop!

No photos available right now, but I've built:
  • Oak Bunk Bed for my kids
  • Dresser
  • Cherry TV Stand with storage
  • Mission-style bookcase (a pair) with glass doors and inlaid pulls
My woodshop is in my basement which is a rented condo. I have only a little space and have to constantly move things around, but I have everything I want except a lathe. Also I'd trade my radial arm saw for a combination mitre saw ... probably will at some point.

What lights are you using? Looks like florescent, but I find those to be far too short-lived and not a great candidate for the basement.

What a lot of talented people in one spot. Very inspirational and motivating. I am actually thinking now of getting back to calligraphy. Great idea for a thread

You could also save them by getting your oils back out and painting them.
They're beautiful. Your garden must be lovely!

Totally agree as I am in awe of all the talent. Unfortunately, I lack zero talent in any type of arts or crafts project. But it is motivating me to at least consider visiting art museums since I really like doing that.

Another quilt.

I do free motion quilting (the quilt moves, not the machine) and thread painting where the picture is drawn by stitches.
