deerslayer, it's great to ride with friends, isn't it? Your pic prompts me to post this one taken of me by a fellow rider in 2009.

I have a web page showing off my hobbies, http://www.jeffreyleites.com
My top hobby is playing 1960's instrumental "surf" guitar. Basically, I'm a "bedroom" player, but occasionally, I can be seen, at my stage frighten worse, in public

Here's a YouTube example of me playing lead guitar (I'm the one on the right): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7sfVNL-VSs

Jeff, I like your playing the "surf" guitar. What's the connection to Carol and also to Yafa Yarkoni?

Avi - You certainly have me curious! Do you know Carol? I know her through a forum at the web site, surfguitar101.com. We've met at the web site's annual convention, and we've played together in a member jam held at the convention a couple of times. I'm a big believer in the small world theory (aka 6 degrees of separation), so, I wouldn't be amazed if you did know her. I occasionally do find that I am mutual friends with people I meet on the the web.

You really have me befuddled with Yafa Yarkoni though! I don't recall hearing that name in decades. I have one of her record albums, and saw her perform in a club in Jerusalem in 1976. Where did you come with her name?

No I don't know Caro but I thought that you play together. Yafa Yarkoni has been one of my favorite singers since 1948. She died in 2013.

I was born in 1948 But you asked what my connection was with Yafa Yarkoni, so my question is how/why did you associate her with me? How did you know that I even knew of her?

By the way, Carol owns the Natural Art Surf Shop in your state, NC.

over the years I've done quilting, sewing, beading... but at the moment I'm knitting... decided that I needed some slippers! Then again if they go well I make make some more for the family for Christmas.

Due to my current situation I have also done a lot of knitting. It is easy to pick up and put down.
I finished this scarf/mini shawl last month.

Oh, I see. Her videos might have appeared on the side, because you previously watched some of her videos, I see entirely different preview videos when I look at the link I posted. It was just a coincidence that I knew who she was. I might be the only other member of the forum here, who knew of her, let along actually saw her perform in Israel. You sure had me scratching my head!

Jeff, I watched on YouTube a piece that I liked but I can't find it anymore. It was I think Carol (or another lady) snow surfing, left and right, and you (I think) played the music. Could you help me locate it?

BTW, when I listen to Joan Baez, I remember a story about her from the early 1960, when someone hired her for $30 to play dance- music while we, my male roommate and I, as singles, were dancing in a college mixer in Boston. At the end of the dance the fellow told her that he was not going to pay her the $30 b/c she did not play good enough. She started to cry and said that she was hungry and had no money. So my roommate and I took her to the following Peter- Pan and fed her:

When I listen to her playing in the following piece and remember that story, I feel like crying.

Thanks Dori.
The yarn was an impulse buy. The yarn store had moved and my sister and I went to the re-opening. The store was next door to a biker style leather goods store and she left me alone to look at it. It had been a very long winter already and it was only December. The yarn is hand dyed, hand spun, fair trade, cotton and linen blend yarn from South America. Which is why each triangle is a slightly different shade. I alternated the 3 balls over the 8 triangles. It was lovely to knit with and it is very soft and not itchy (I am allergic to most animal fibre including baby alpaca - sob)
