Re: Hi again from JediMark / SleepyHead
Mark,
So sorry to hear of your continuing difficulties in your health, and I wish you and we all wish you good luck and better health and happiness.
Your software is amazing, and I use SleepyHead every day right alongside ResScan, especially because your Statistics Page with Records and Bookmarks quickly presents me with an easily understandable picture of my progress in a manner much more understandable than ResScan does.
It is an amazing program! Do not bother yourself about fixes or improvements until such time as you are able and so inclined. Only when you are ready at some future time, and then perhaps your project should be based on a donor program through paypal as you are certainly entitled to fair compensation for your work.***
Take care of yourself!
Best wishes, Nate
*** PS - To get the ball rolling to try to compensate you for your past work, and without obligating you as to any future enhancement work, I just went to this page:

Money makes the world go round, and even foggy OpenSource developers like me need coffee/chocolate/food/etc. I certainly don't expect to make a living providing free software, but I currently have health issues that pretty much restrict what I can do elsewhere.
Any support you can give in this way is always appreciated, by both me and my hard-working and loving wife who is currently supporting me.
SleepyHead Donation page at SourceForge (uses PayPal).
If you would prefer to donate using another method, please contact me.

Did you ever do an unasked for favor for a friend or neighbor thinking you were doing something thoughtful and the friend thought you were just interfering or what you did just made things worse, etc, etc. I could go on with many situations that have happened to me but I still get involved wherever I think I can be of help but I hold back if it doesn't feel right. It usually works out fine and is appreciated but there are other times, not so fine. Probably there is a better analogy but I think you get the idea.ems wrote:Dori... A couple of points...they had only twenty subjects and they had AHIs of over 15.-SWS wrote:Resmed claims their central sleep apnea detection (CSAD) is pretty decent:pikov22 wrote: One problem with any OSA software is that -- according to my sleep doc, who works with equipment manufacturers -- the accuracy of the sensors in the machinery is questionable. I have not been able to find any specs that either back his allegation or are contrary to it. Have you seen any?

The results section said that polygraphy detected 128 obstructive apneas and 104 as central. The CSAD reported 153 obstructive and 79 centrals. That's about a 20% error. [(153-128)/128]

Like if your friend tells you that she has no sex drive and her husband wants sex, so you have sex with her husband to take some of the pressure off her and when she finds out, she never speaks to you again. That kind of thing?DoriC wrote:Did you ever do an unasked for favor for a friend or neighbor thinking you were doing something thoughtful and the friend thought you were just interfering or what you did just made things worse, etc, etc. I could go on with many situations that have happened to me but I still get involved wherever I think I can be of help but I hold back if it doesn't feel right. Re: Hi again from JediMark / SleepyHead
That's the obstructive side of detection: the CSAD left-over pile. That error rate could be why Resmed decided to name the detection circuit CSAD instead of OSAD...pikov22 wrote: The results section said that polygraphy detected 128 obstructive apneas and 104 as central. edit: Resmed might perform additional signal processing beyond CSAD. Flow wave-shape analysis, for instance, would improve obstructive apnea detection compared to CSAD alone. It would improve overall central-apnea detection specificity as well.
Re: Hi again from JediMark / SleepyHead
Thanks for all the explanations... you must admit that SU's was the best tho. Now if anyone ever asks me to explain that expression, I know just what to say!SleepingUgly wrote:Like if your friend tells you that she has no sex drive and her husband wants sex, so you have sex with her husband to take some of the pressure off her and when she finds out, she never speaks to you again. One thing is still bothering me...what happens to the husband and wife??? This has the makings of a juicy soap opera! Poor Mark, whatever happened to his thread?
