Ouch!
Incorporating a chinstrap into the mask itself has got to do a number on the nose of the bridge. Nice idea but it still uses a lower tension strap ... it will tighten and loosen as the head moves from side to side or up and down >> straps become too loose or too tight.

I just ordered it based on your recommendation and after reading other reviews about it. Thanks for posting. And if it doesn't work out for me, I'll post my address so you can send me a check for $129. Of course, that last part was my weak attempt at humor.

I love my 7600 V2, but my wife hates the thing. The exhaust port is the loudest of any mask I have worn. I wish she did not hate is so much because it has been the best fitting, lowest leak mask that I have ever tried with my facial hair. The whole mask is also somewhat flexible, so it maintains better position and seal when I change positions.

I know one of the big complaints the OEMs get from the field is that they want the air to diffuse instantly or they want the air to go in a certain direction. F&P has a diffusion hood on the Eson, I was wondering if that solves issues, and assuming not every mask is goint to add a hood, which direction would you like the air to be directed? As for hooks vs quick disconnect clips expect to see more of those as competitive bidding has lowered reinbursement rates to the DMEs and that is going to force OEMs to lower the cost of the mask, one easy way is to eleminate "extra" pieces.

Wife or mask? I will take a good mask that doesn't leak over a wife any day of the week.
I hope my wife never sees this.

Yes, I realize that. I had never heard of the mask until I saw your post so I then read the reviews on Cpap.com and read the descriptions on the manufacturer's web site and it looked like something worth trying. And if it doesn't work out...I will not think any less of you.

I haven't been on this forum for a while but I thought I would report on my experience with this mask. I ordered it because I have been having a lot of trouble with nose pain from masks. This mask spares my nose. I have not noticed the issue some report here with the exhaust ports, and I am a side sleeper.
It is a keeper.

I purchased one as well, and unfortunately it's going back. I like the mask design well enough, although I'm not completely sold on the forehead support system. My main issue with the mask was excessive leaks/mask farting. I even got up and put my pad-a-cheek liner from my Quattro on (leaving the front flap off hanging down so as to not block the port) and it didn't help. I feel that I'm pretty good with adjusting to eliminate leaks, but no luck this time around.
I don't want to discourage anyone from trying it, but just like any mask it may or may not work for you.

I have gotten around most of the minor problems I have with the Air, but there is one problem left that has me considering returning the mask. I mostly breath through my mouth while sleeping due to sinus issues. With my Forma my mouth only dries out when the humidifier runs out of water (which is often... need a bigger chamber!), but the Air inlet seems to be positioned in exactly the right spot to blow directly into my mouth. I woke up fours times last night with a very dry mouth. So dry that my tongue had a slightly raw feeling today.
I am going to give it one more night, and then I will just have to go back to my old stand-by.

So you been a son of Yordim. I was born there 84 years ago and came here at age of 28. But in the meantime went back and lived there with family from 1969 till 1980.

This mask doesn't work for us. I've tried everything to stop the leaks but no adjustment works. The old Quattro can be a bit finicky at times but I can usually readjust it. I also notice the chin part does not keep the chin as secure as the Quattro and it allows for jaw drop. There's also something about the forehead pad that's not doing it's job, doesn't seem stable enough. I really wanted to love this mask but alas, it is not to be! It's going back tomorrow. Maybe if they get enough complaints they can upgrade the design.

I find the Air to be a more comfortable fit than the Quattro fx that I've been using for 1.5 years. Only complaint with fx is with having to tighten bottom straps tightly, causing neck pain. Ave. AHI < .50. The Air needs to be tight also, but so far, I can't prevent large leaks. Ave AHI is less than 1. Also find the Air to be much noisier than fx. I'm going to fiddle with it for a few more days to try to reduce the leaking. The leaks begin 2-3 hours into sleep and are continuous until awakening. I do move my head while I sleep and the fx seems to handle the movement better.

Still no luck in getting the large leaks down but AHI is not bad either. Red forehead marks very noticeable today. Neck pain not as severe as with the FX. I have Pad a Cheek neck pad on order for the FX.
